Needs Assessment Results

One of our favorite events of the year is meeting with our RCAC stakeholders! Our council is comprised of members representing both Taft and Communications Arts campuses. We use the data from our needs assessment to help us focus on the issues that are most important to our campus and community. (You are welcome to click on the picture to see our short meeting presentation.)

Anxiety Attack Calm Down

If you or a student are feeling overwhelmed with anxiety, this calming exercise is effective.

Ways to use this strategy:

  • In the classroom or car before you start your day
  • Conference period reset
  • An anxious student can put on headphones and do this activity as well if you share the link in Schoology.
  • Show it to the class as a reset or before an exam.
So, You're Having an Anxiety Attack (The Calm-Down Method for Stopping Anxiety Attacks)

Employee Assistance Program Employee Assistance Program

We as educators are human beings with real life traumas and challenging circumstances in our lives outside of work. Some of us are dealing with struggles in our mental health. Reaching out for help is a superpower not a weakness. NISD has a resource that may be beneficial to you called the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). EAP can be accessed by calling The Standard 1-888-293-6948 or visiting http://members.healthadvocate.com/.
