Welcome Justin Svirsky to Grade 4 Welcome Justin Svirsky to Grade 4

Hello RES Community,

I hope this message finds you well! My name is Justin Svirsky, and I'm excited to be

returning to RES as a fourth grade teacher. Some of you may remember me from my

time here in 2022-23 as a building-based substitute, which was incredibly valuable as I

pursued my graduate degree in education. The support I received from everyone at

RES was exceptional, and I am thrilled to be rejoining such a supportive team.

I come to Rye with a background in graphic design and a master's degree in elementary

education, along with experience teaching kindergarten through fifth grade. It's a joy for

me to embark on this new journey as a fourth grade teacher in this vibrant and caring

school community.

My family and I live on the New Hampshire Seacoast with our two daughters and our

beloved labradoodle, Sawyer. We cherish our time by the water, whether it's relaxing on

the beach, swimming, or simply enjoying the salty breeze. During the winter months you

will find us at some New England ski resort riding and skiing. I'm excited to share my

love for nature and curiosity about the world with my students.

As an educator, I believe in creating a classroom where students feel safe to take

cognitive risks, learn from mistakes, and explore new ideas. My goal is to foster

curiosity, support individual growth, and build a strong sense of community among my

students. I am dedicated to ensuring that every student feels recognized, valued, and

motivated to achieve their fullest potential, both academically and personally.

I am genuinely looking forward to the upcoming school year and the opportunity to

positively contribute to your community.

Warm regards,

Justin Svirsky

Parent Information for Field Day 2025.

Field Day is a fun outdoor activity day for grade K - 4. It is scheduled for Friday, May 30, 2025 from 8:40 - 12:35. The rain date is Monday, June 2, 2025. The event will take place on the lower playground at RES. Volunteers are needed. Please use this link to sign up. Field Day Sign up genius 2025

All grade levels will be given a colored bandana, it would be great if your child could wear a t-shirt that matches the color of the bandana to school that day.

The colors are as follows:

Kindergarten = yellow, first grade = red, second grade = blue, third grade = green, and fourth grade = black.

Other things to consider for your child for Field Day are: apply sunscreen and or bug spray at home before school, wear sneakers, pack DRY CLOTHES, and a water bottle with the student's name on it. This is a regular school day. School lunch will be offered or your child can bring home lunch. We will eat outside picnic style.

Some Highlights Some Highlights

NHSPCA: Thank you for your donations!

The Kindergarten and First Grade students held a walk-a-thon to raise money for the NHSCPA. They raised over $5,000 which is UNBELIEVABLE! The Kindergarten students hand delivered a "check" to the organization and they were so appreciative. These students have been researching an animal up for adoption and will be presenting their research to our community next week!

Space Week in PreK

Our PreK students have been exploring space RES style, with a high dose of engagement and creativity. Activities have included writing space words, building spaceships, and painting rockets. One activity involved coding. Students coded their Beebots to "travel" to different planets!

State Testing

We are so proud of our third and fourth graders who have finished three days of testing in reading, writing and math. They truly persevered and bounced back each day when testing was complete. We want to thank our students foe their hard work and the teachers for preparing them and administering this assessment. This is a community effort and our younger students deserve praise for being quiet in the halls. Shout out to Lori Arsenault for being our RES test coordinator!

Lunch in Our Caf

We invite one family member at a time to have lunch with their child(ren) but this is very optional and we don't want families to feel pressured to attend. This is an occasional event as we do want children to build independence and social skills in the cafeteria, a perfect time for this!

  • Email resoffice@sau50.org if you would like to attend with the date/time. It is important to anticipate who will be in the building. We love these opportunities for students and their family members but we will always put safety first.
  • Adults must bring their own lunch and can bring lunch for their own child.
  • We do have a focus during this time...eating for energy and brain power!
  • Family members must meet the child in the cafeteria and leave from the cafeteria.
  • Days for family visits are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We do not have lunch visitors on Fridays.
  • Lunch times are:
  • Kindergarten-11:45-12:10

    First Grade-12:10-12:35

    Second Grade-12:10-12:35

    Third Grade- 11:15-11:40

    Fourth Grade-11:15-11:40
