What a wonderful start to the school year! Thank you to all of our families for your patience and flexibility with our opening day routines. It has been great to talk with our students and hear all about their summer adventures.

We already have quite a few lost and found items. It would be really helpful to ensure items are returned the correct student if you could write your child's name in their lunchbox and jackets.

More information will be coming home soon for our fall after school activities. This applies to any interested 3rd, 4th or 5th grade student.

Picture Day for Thomas Jefferson Elementary is scheduled for Thursday, Aug 17th.

Online ordering is available before and after Picture Day. Shipping and handling charges may apply to orders placed after Picture Day.

Ms. Davey would like to remind our TJ families that students will be painting, using markers and clay in art class. On art days please make sure students are wearing appropriate clothing to get a little messy. If you would like to send in an oversized shirt "art shirt" to remain at school feel free to send this in with your student.

Chromebooks have been issued for all of our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. Please be sure to review the expectations with your student at home. Kindergarten through 2nd grade will have chromebooks for in class use only.

Anyone arriving after 9:00 or leaving prior to 3:00 will be counted as tardy. Please notify the office of changes to your child's transportation.

Per the GCCS handbook;

Students will be recognized on the daily announcements and will receive a pencil from the office to acknowledge their special day. Please refrain from having flowers, balloons, etc. delivered to school. If you are sending in a birthday treat you will need to approve this with the teacher prior. Only healthy snacks are allowed per our GCCS Wellness Policy. Please ask the office if you have any questions.

Birthday invitations are not allowed to be distributed at school.

Greater Clark County Schools and TJES utilizes School Messenger, a quick alert messaging service that is being utilized to communicate COVID-19, weather related closures/delays, emergencies, and general communications such as important school announcements or events.
