Principal Message
Dear WCS Families,
It’s hard to believe it’s already time to sign up for Parent-Teacher Conferences! If you haven’t done so yet, please take a few moments to schedule your conference.
-
Grade 5 Parents: Please sign up with your child’s homeroom teacher.
-
Grade 6 Parents: You may schedule a conference with any one teacher, in addition to setting up times with Unified Arts and Specialist teachers.
Please note that at this level, due to the large number of students each teacher works with, there are not enough slots available to meet with every teacher as in elementary school. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.
Parent Volunteers-Important
Volunteer opportunities require that you have completed the Volunteer Google Form, the background check and fingerprinting process, as well as completed the annual Vector training. This online training must be completed annually. After your first completion, a reminder email will be sent to you annually prior to your training expiration date. Please be sure to keep your Vector training up to date if you are interested in volunteering.
Friday Night 5G Lights
Continue to spread the word and vote with every email, every day so we can get a step closer to winning the one million dollars for our WHS Football Field. Click on the link below.

Morning Traffic & Safety
You may have noticed a police presence in front of the building each morning. This has been arranged to monitor traffic flow and deter drivers from entering the wrong lane to make a left-hand turn into WCS. This measure helps keep our students, parents, and community safe. We greatly appreciate your cooperation and attention to safety during arrival time.
Power Hub Updates
We have been eagerly posting updates on the Power Hub, and before long, all communications will be shared there. The newsfeed is an easy way to scroll back and find past announcements and information much like social media feeds.
Please use the instructions in this newsletter to access the Power Hub so you can stay informed about important school updates.
Pick-Up Patrol Reminders
Thank you for doing such a great job keeping Pick-up Patrol updated with your child’s daily dismissal plans! At the end of each day, the dismissal plan by homeroom is posted on the Clear Touch board for students to see. This allows them to check for any changes before dismissal.
Please remember not to include private details in Pick-Up Patrol. For example, instead of writing “therapy appointment,” simply write “appointment.” This keeps your child’s information private while still helping them know their end-of-day plan.
PTA Ice Cream Social & Upcoming Events
We had a fantastic turnout at the PTA Ice Cream Social last evening! Thank you to all who attended as it was a wonderful way to kick off the year. If you haven’t yet, please consider joining our PTA.
Your membership directly supports students and staff. Some of the ways the PTA has supported Windham Center School is the funding for:
-
Flexible seating in classrooms
-
Library soft seating
-
Assemblies and enrichment opportunities
-
School-wide events
We are so fortunate to have such a dedicated group of parents organizing special activities like the Ice Cream Social, the upcoming Monster Bash, and the Gingerbread Event later this year. Thank you for your continued support as it makes a big difference for our students!
Warmly,
Billie-Jo Martin
Principal, Windham Center School

Hello WCS Families,
We are pleased to announce that Ski Club will take place again this year! We will be going to Pat’s Peak on Thursday nights in January for five fun-filled nights of skiing and snowboarding (January 8, 15, 22, 29 & Feb. 5). Students of all levels are welcome to sign up, as there are lessons at the mountain.
This year, sign-ups will be emailed out on October 25th at 9:00 AM to allow for early bird pricing and for all families to have an option to sign up. (To receive early pricing, registration must be paid in FULL on or before 11/15/25.) Sign-ups will be first-come, first-served, and can be very competitive. When you go to sign up, you will need the names and numbers of TWO emergency contacts ready to be entered. If your child does not make the cut-off for the club, please email jlemay@windhamsd.org AND scronin@windhamsd.org, as email time stamps will also create the waitlist.
If you are new to Ski Club, here is some overview information:
- Please be advised that participation in this club entails additional expenses, including bus transportation fees and a Pats Peak ski pass. Families may select from a variety of pass types, depending on their preferences and budget.
- All students must pay for their spot on the bus and get their pass from Pat’s Peak.
- Videos of how to purchase tickets and detailed information can be found on the Ski Club Page for students who join the Ski Club.
- Ski Club Swag can be purchased this year!
