Treasurer Connection
Hello Falcons! I would like to thank you all for your unwavering support and commitment to our students. Our students are the heart of what we do and we appreciate your passion, engagement, and feedback that drive us to continuously improve to give our kids the very best!
Mr. Moss and I are visiting all of the district township and village meetings to share the District Finances presentation. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where every voice is heard and every idea is valued. Together we can navigate challenges and celebrate successes. We encourage you to share your thoughts and experiences with us as we strive to build a better future for our community!
I was also invited to be part of a panel at a state conference in the spring to share our struggle with the Fair School Funding Plan and how much the state is transitioning the financial burden of school funding to the local communities. Just a decade ago, money from the state made up 57% of our budget and now it's down to 45% of our budget even though the amount we receive from them has stayed the same.

The September 16 Board of Education meeting took place in the Middle School and a recap of the meeting is below.
1. The board is looking to enhance the educational experience while utilizing our resources efficiently to ensure financial stability. There will be more discussion and a plan for moving forward at the October meeting regarding what this looks like depending on the outcome of November's election.
2. The audio recording of every board meeting is posted within 24 hours of meetings on our website under District Info then Board of Education.
3. Our district earned 4.5 stars on our latest report card from ODEW! Check out the Quality Profile to accompany the report card. An in-depth presentation will be given at the October 21st meeting.
4. We are working with the architechts to plan our membrane roof replacement and restroom refurbishing.
Bus Safety Week
This year's National School Bus Safety week theme is "Drive Safely Into the Future." October 21st thru 25th marks 2024 safety week. Local Law Enforcement Agencies will be working closely with buses and routes in an effort to raise awareness around school transportation. We want to make you aware that law enforcement vehicles may be following buses, vehicles on campus, and riding on routes. Evacuation drills may be taking place as well. Please support officers in their efforts to keep our students safe.
Bus Count Week
The week of October 21st - October 25th is bus count week for Clinton-Massie Local Schools. During this week, we collect data on the number of students transported to and from school by bus. The data is used to calculate transportation funding for our school.
November 2024 Levy
Clinton-Massie Local Schools will be on the November 5, 2024 ballot for a 1% earned income tax levy. This will tax the same reported wages (W-2s, Schedule Cs, Schedule Fs) as the current 0.5% earned income tax levy. Our Permanent Improvement Fund will no longer have a revenue stream (the building maintenance levy from when the buildings were constructed runs out in December), so a portion of the additional 0.5% will be dedicated to building improvements such as roof replacement, HVAC, plumbing, etc. For more information please see https://www.cmfalcons.org/en-US/levy.
You can also email Treasurer, Carrie Bir or Superintendent, David Moss or you can reach them by phone at 937.289.2471 anytime with questions!

Outdoor Facilities - "4 Quarter Drive"
Our facilities need immediate attention as some are on the verge of not being useable due to safety concerns and many need significant upgrades over the next 1-3 years to allow continued use. The district is asking for community financial support through a grassroots funding program.
We aim to partner with local businesses and community members to drive facility upgrades. Local businesses and community members are rewarded with many great sponsorship opportunities including but not limited to Naming Rights, Advertisement Opportunities, Donor Wall Recognition, PA Announcements, Season Passes, etc.
The entire project is approximately $2.5 million dollars. The "1st quarter" of the 4 Quarter Drive focuses on replacing the turf. It is 13 years old and at the end of life. An average turf field lasts between 8-12 years. The turf provides athletic opportunities for our football, soccer, lacrosse, youth teams, band, and community. It is a revenue generator for our school, so it needs to be our focus.
See the video below for an introduction and http://clearvision.cmfalcons.org for more information. Reach out to Brian Carey (brian.carey@cmfalcons.org) with questions.
