News From the Nurseā¦
YOU MUST PICK UP YOUR CHILDāS MEDICATION!
Medication must be picked up by a parent/guardian by the end of the school day on or before June 11th. All remaining medication will be properly disposed of.
Reminder for next school year:
If your child will require medication during the 2026/2027 school year, a new Medication Authorization form or a new Action plan needs to be completed. You can find the link to these Health forms and Action plans here
*If your child has a chronic medical condition that may result in an emergency situation (Seizures, Anaphylactic Allergies, Type 1 Diabetes, Asthma, etc.), please inform your childās school and ensure you have an up to date medical plan on file prior to the start of the 2026/2027 school year. A new plan is required on a yearly basis or if any changes are made to the plan throughout the year.
Have a great summer and we look forward to seeing you next year!
From The Principal
Happy Friday Hawkins,
What a great Friday it was! I started my morning watching Ms. Marshās students host their poetry cafe. What a great skill it is to watch these young people speak so confidently in front of a large group. We then welcomed graduating BHS seniors who attended Hawkins for a clap out celebration. We donāt have many teachers left from when they were here, but the kids loved it. I spent some time in the lunch room today talking to students about expectations, we just want to make sure to finish the year strong. We will wrap things up tonight with Family Fun Night (details below). I am hoping all of you can attend. It looks like we will have great weather.
As we wrap up the year, there a few reminders to parents. The dress code for elementary school is difficult, and following the district policy can be challenging for our young students. I ask that you just take a look at your child each morning, and make sure they look appropriate. If a teacher has a concern I have asked them to reach out to me and I can give you a call to discuss it.
Finally, I wanted to take a minute to thank an amazing parent. After Covid, when we changed our drop off procedure, we had some chaos. Mike Traicoff came to me and offered his help. Instead of complaining, he came up with solutions that made it better, and we put them in place. His ideas of the kindergarten pick up area, crossing guards at each lot, and the vests to identify staff, (which he donated) are things we still use today. He is out helping with drop off every morning, and as you can guess, this is sometimes not a pleasant job. There was even one school year that he did not miss a day! Thanks Mike for being such a huge part of Hawkins, and for the help you have given me. You are truly appreciated.
I will be working at my new hobby, umpiring, all weekend, and hopefully finding some time to get some projects done around the house. Have a great weekend everyone and thanks for all your support.
Have a great weekend!
Mr. McAuliffe
Happy Retirement Mr. McAuliffe!
Earlier this week, Hawkins staff gathered for a retirement breakfast to celebrate Mr. McAuliffe's seven years at Hawkins. Here he is with his "anything but a retirement balloon" collection. HAPPY RETIREMENT Mr. McAuliffe!

25-26 Report Cards
Report cards will be available to view in Parent Connect on Tuesday, June 17th. We will not be mailing report cards home.
We are attempting to utilize technology to reduce paper use and waste. This also helps reduce our paper cost and that savings can be used for our students.
Below are two documents that outline how to access report cards in Parent Connect and they are attached. It takes you step by step through accessing your students report card.

Thank You Mike Traicoff!!

26-27 Yearbook Coordinators Needed
We are looking for parent volunteers to serve as Yearbook Coordinators for the 2026ā2027 school year! This is a fun and rewarding opportunity to help preserve special school memories, organizing photos, highlighting events, and creating a yearbook that Hawkins students will treasure for years to come. No prior experience is necessaryājust creativity, organization, and a willingness to collaborate with staff and families throughout the year. If you are interested in helping or would like more information, please contact the Hawkins office (810)299-3900 or email Judy Samanich at samanij@gmail.com. We would love to have you on the team!
FINAL RUN CLUB ACCOMPLISHMENTS
I am completely blown away at the runners at Hawkins! There are over 200 students that meet their goals and will be attending the ice cream party. A HUGE shout out to the 15 students who completed a full marathon this school year!
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the amazing volunteers that have generously given their time and encouragement to support the runners! Also a big thank you to the 2nd graders who create signs to make the last day of run club so festive!
There is still time to help sign up to help scoop all that ice cream on Tuesday, as well as celebrate the runnersā accomplishments.

Just-In-Case Clothes
Please make sure your child has an extra set of clothes in their backpack. Accidents happen while your child is at school (bathroom accidents, playground mishaps, lunchroom spills, ripped or torn clothes, etc.) and we do not have extra clothes to lend out. Having an extra set here at school saves parents from having to make a trip to Hawkins during the day. We appreciate your help!
Parent Volunteers
All parent volunteers must undergo a background check in order to volunteer at Hawkins. If you have not done so yet and are planning on volunteering at Hawkins, click on the link below to access Brighton Area Schools Background Check Form.
Parent Connect

PLEASE NOTE: Address changes CANNOT be completed through Parent Connect. Address changes must be completed by filling out a change of address form along with 3 copies of proof of residency. Details are listed on the change of address form which is available by clicking on the link below.
