EMMETSBURG DISTRICT MISSION
The Emmetsburg CSD believes we will create an environment of promoting growth and serving others.
Kindergarten Readiness
Readiness Kindergarten spent some extra time outside on the first full day of Spring to see how the wind works. They tried making pinwheels turn and observed a wind sock. We hope to find more nice Spring days to fly a kite!
Preschool
Catching a spider in the classroom has created some excitement for our preschoolers! Many observations were made. "He's moving that means he's alive." "He's fast." "Some spiders are big." "He keeps falling." Those observations also led to some questions. "Where is his web?" "Do spiders make webs out of their butt?" "How do they make their web." "Do spiders eat other spiders?" We enjoyed looking at and listening to books about spiders!
First Grade
First graders have been learning about the phases of the moon. Ask your first grader what they can tell you?
2nd Grade
Second graders have been busy this month! In art they have been working on clap cups. They have also had several guest readers and enjoyed Read Across America Day.
3rd Grade
Third graders have been working on constructing strong bridges using only two pieces of paper. The goals was to hold as many pennies as possible. The whole third grade class had a contest to see who's bridge was the strongest. The winning bridge held 200 pennies.
4th Grade
Fourth graders enjoyed some fun hands on learning in math working on making some meter strips.
