Health Occupations Students of America
Last Friday, WMCTC students and staff greeted HOSA participants upon their return to WMCTC. Their bus was escorted by the local fire company and police...lights, sirens and all! HOSA participants were welcomed back with loud cheers, signs and applause. Even the Wildcat made an appearance!
This year we had four medal winners!
Rachael Zaw - Bronze Medal - Research Persuasive Writing and Speaking
Nick Weston - Bronze Medal - Life Support Skills
Amara Brown - Gold Medal - Pathophysiology
Ryan Cook - Gold Medal - Speaking Skills
To all participants - We hope you had an incredible experience filled with learning, leadership, and unforgettable moments. Whether you competed, attended sessions, or connected with fellow future healthcare professionals, your dedication and passion truly represent what HOSA is all about.
Let’s carry that energy forward—apply what you’ve learned, continue building your skills, and support one another as you grow. We are so proud of all your hard work and accomplishments!
Here’s to finishing the year strong and continuing to make a difference in the world of healthcare!
Three WMCTC instructors were recognized for their years of service to the HOSA program.

Big News from Culinary Program!
Congratulations to Callie Nissley for winning the People’s Choice Award in the Ann B. Zekauskas Beyond Cooking Food Styling Competition with C-CAP! Her Apple, Brie & Bacon Pie captured the votes and the attention of so many. This was a national competition, and the support she received was incredible.
Also, congratulations again to Jazell Francisco for earning 2nd place overall in the same competition with her Shrimp Ceviche en Tostón Pie. An outstanding achievement that reflects both creativity and skill.
We are incredibly proud of both students and all of our WMCTC Culinary students who participated. The talent, effort, and professionalism on display were truly impressive.
Thank you to everyone who voted, shared, and supported our students. This community showed up in a big way!
A huge thank you to the @zekauskasfamily and @culinarycareersprogram @ccapphl @alyssatermini
