Fourth and Fifth Ignited Inspiration
A Night of Harmony and Inspiration!
Our 4th and 5th grade performers truly took center stage this week, delivering a concert that left our hearts full and our spirits high. Through a beautiful selection of student-chosen songs, our performers explored powerful themes of friendship, community, and the importance of being our best selves. It was more than just a musical showcase; it was a reminder of the incredible spark our students carry. Their voices ignited a sense of pride and inspiration across the entire school and for all the families in attendance.
Ms. Bahn and Ms. Ashley ~ Staff of the Year
For the School Year 25-26 we are proud to announce that Mrs. Bahn, 1st-grade teacher, and Mrs. Ashley Wentzel, A-Base TA, have been nominated as our Staff of the Year! This past Thursday, they represented SES as Staff of the Year nominees at the ACPS School Board meetings. They were recognized for their contributions to the ACPS mission and vision, and for all their hard work.
School Bus Driver Appreciation
This week, we invite our school community to extend a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated bus drivers for safely transporting our students every single day. Their commitment to safety and their friendly smiles at the bus stop make a lasting impact on our childrenโs lives and our school's success.
We also thank the DelGrosso family for starting off their morning with smiles today!
SOL Testing Begins This Week
As we prepare for testing, please make sure that your student(s) are getting full nights' sleep, getting a full meal, and coming in ready to do their best. Encourage your student to take their time and try their best. If you have any questions, please reach out to the front office.
We Need Your Feedback!
Panorama Survey for Families ~ We Need 10 more responses.
ACPS families are invited to take the Panorama Family Survey and share your thoughts on what is working well and where we can improve.
We've sent home the link as well as paper copies because we know that is sometimes easier for you!
๐ The survey is brief and confidential: https://k12albemarle.info/4th324s

Field Day Volunteers Needed
This year volunteers will lead a specific station. Volunteers will be responsible for running each station which will include reading and explaining rules, facilitating, and keeping any necessary times/scores for each class. It is our hope that we will have at least 2 volunteers for each of the stations. In addition to families, we also hope to have volunteer students from Monticello High School! Classes will rotate through every 15 minutes with their teacher. If you are able to volunteer, more information including station descriptions will be sent to you as soon as possible once you sign up. Your help is what makes our Field Day events so successful! Thank you in advance!
If you are interested in being a volunteer please sign up at the following link:
Also, please contact Janet Lilly, jlilly@k12albemarle.org, in the office to ensure you are cleared to be a volunteer for the 2025-26 school year!
Peek in the Week
Coping Skills Cafe
Our 3rd graders had a fantastic time last Wednesday at the Coping Skills Cafe, an exciting event that served as a hands-on extension of their weekly classroom lessons with Ms. Renee and Mr. Gamble. This "cafe" was a true team effort including groups with Dr. Irons, Ms. Jessie, and Ms. Christ & Ms. Hendricks -- providing a fun and interactive environment for students to practice the strategies for success theyโve been studying all year. From deep breathing "recipes" to mindful "tastings," the kids explored a variety of emotional tools designed to help them navigate challenges with confidence. It was a joy to see them collaborate and engage so enthusiastically, and we hope they continue to reach for these helpful tools whenever they need a moment of calm or a boost of resilience!
Thoughtful Tigers

The PTO only works when our school community works together, and right now we truly need more helping hands.
