Happy fall, Wrangler families! It is hard to believe we are already settling into a new nine weeks! Our students are off to a great start, and it has been wonderful to see them continuing to grow, learn, and demonstrate what it means to be a Wrangler. As the weather cools down, we have plenty to look forward to around campus!

Looking ahead, Interim STAAR testing begins next week! Students will take the Reading Interim on October 29 and the Math Interim on November 5. These assessments help us monitor student progress toward grade-level expectations and identify students who may benefit from additional support, including tutoring, Math or Reading Lab classes, and other interventions to help them reach grade level by the end of the school year.

Parents, you can help your student be successful by ensuring they get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and bring a fully charged device to school on testing days. Please also remind your student to take their time, do their best, and take these assessments seriously. The results provide valuable information that helps us make informed decisions about how to best support each student's academic growth.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support of Hedrick Middle School. We are proud of our Wranglers and look forward to another great nine weeks together!

Warmly,

Linda Cragin, Principal
