6:00-7:00 Parents and students are invited to stay for pizza, all-beef hotdogs, snacks, meet the Beer MS Title One Teachers (in the cafeteria), setup a Parent Portal account to check student grades, learn more about our Title 1 Program, our Parent Involvement Plan, our Parent Compact, and to pick up your two free books and purchase additional books from our Scholastic Book Fair.
Sessions
• Room 505: Math presentation. Beer MS Math teachers will give a presentation on using Khan Academy and games to increase math proficiency and talk about our Math Skills Challenge. In each grade (6th, 7th, & 8th) we will have 1st place prize of $100, 2nd place prize of $75, and 3rd place prize of $50 (Amazon Gift Cards) for the students who complete the most KHAN Academy Math Skills in their Grade Level. Parents and students will learn how to create a Khan Academy account and how to use Khan Academy to build math skills. Each Beer MS student will receive a free math game or TI-30 Calculator.
• Media Center: Literacy Presentation. The Warren Public Library and Beer MS ELA teachers will give a presentation on how to access the Warren Public Library and how to increase literacy/reading skills. Library cards will be available and at the end of the presentation, parents will pick up two free books of their choice from our Scholastic Book Fair from 6:00-7:00PM
