Principals' Message
Hello Pershing Families! 🐾
Project time is here... Our students will be working on creating trading cards for Black History Month. Teachers will be getting different formats to choose from and introducing the project to their students at some point this week. Panthers are going to be learning lots about the African Americans throughout history that have been influential in the world of Science, Sports, Civil Rights and more. If you can begin to chatting to your student(s) about these special individuals, it will be really helpful when choosing their project topics. Also, be on the look out for our Black History Month Spirit Week coming up Feb. 23rd-Feb. 27th!
We want to remind parents/guardians that unless conditions are unsafe, we will continue to have outdoor recess. We encourage parents to send their children with gloves, hats, scarves and warm coats to be prepared for being outside in the cold weather. If you need any assistance in getting proper winter gear, please contact me.
With all the snow it's especially important that everyone helps during arrival & dismissal. PLEASE do not double park on Scoville or East Ave. Just keep driving if your student is not ready for pick up and come back around. PLEASE DO NOT STOP AND DOUBLE PARK. I take the job of keep my Panthers safe very seriously... Please help me out by NOT DOUBLE PARKING ON SCOVILLE OR EAST AVE. I appreciate your cooperation everyone.

¡Hola familias de Pershing! 🐾
¡Llegó el momento del proyecto! Nuestros estudiantes trabajarán en la creación de tarjetas coleccionables para el Mes de la Historia Afroamericana. Los maestros recibirán diferentes formatos para elegir y presentarán el proyecto a sus alumnos en algún momento de esta semana. Los estudiantes aprenderán mucho sobre los afroamericanos que han sido influyentes a lo largo de la historia en los campos de la ciencia, los deportes, los derechos civiles y muchos otros. Si pueden comenzar a hablar con sus hijos sobre estas personas destacadas, les será de gran ayuda al elegir los temas para sus proyectos. ¡Además, esté atento a nuestra Semana del Espíritu del Mes de la Historia Negra que se realizará del 23 al 27 de febrero!
Queremos recordarles a los padres/tutores que, a menos que las condiciones sean peligrosas, continuaremos con el recreo al aire libre. Les recomendamos que envíen a sus hijos con guantes, gorros, bufandas y abrigos abrigados para que estén preparados para estar al aire libre con el frío. Si necesitan ayuda para conseguir ropa de invierno adecuada, no duden en contactarme.
Con toda la nieve, es especialmente importante que todos colaboren durante la entrada y la salida de la escuela. POR FAVOR, no se estacionen en doble fila en Scoville ni en East Ave. Si su hijo aún no está listo para que lo recojan, continúen conduciendo y den la vuelta. POR FAVOR, NO SE DETENGAN NI SE ESTACIONEN EN DOBLE FILA. Me tomo muy en serio la seguridad de mis Panthers... Por favor, ayúdenme a mantenerlos seguros NO ESTACIONÁNDOSE EN DOBLE FILA EN SCOVILLE NI EN EAST AVE. Agradezco su cooperación.
