Principal's Corner- September 28, 2026
As we enter the last days of fall and begin to prepare for cooler weather, things are getting really busy. Last week 31 juniors visited Zachry Magnet Middle School where they mentored 8th grade students. It's a full circle moment for some NSITE students who attended Zachry and were mentees when they were in 8th grade themselves!
This week several groups of students will attend San Antonio Startup and Tech Week downtown. Towards the end of the week, our adult mentors will come and have lunch with their NSITE mentees.

Message from School Nurse Mosier
Next week the nurse will start state mandated vision, hearing and scoliosis screens for students new to the district or who have no screen documented on file. They are no cost and relatively quick. Please contact the clinic if you have any questions. We will also continue reaching out to families in need of updated immunizations. Ongoing Reminders
Cell Phones
Phones and personal communication devices must be put away and not used during the entire school day. (8:50-4:20) If headphones or earbuds are visible, phones will be confiscated as well. This rule applies to:
Classrooms
Hallways
Passing periods
Lunch
If a phone is confiscated, parents/guardians listed in the system are the only ones who are capable of picking up the phone from the Holmes front office.
IDs
A valid student ID is required to enter a secure building. You MUST have a student ID every day and visible while on campus.
Students, please DO NOT bang or kick on exterior doors to be let into a building. This can cause damage to our doors and our campus—and could also result in costly repairs. which you will be responsible for. Knocking on exterior doors is disruptive to the students who arrived on time.
Find an administrator or staff member to open the door for you.
Campus Visitors
Parents, guardians, and visitors are required to present a state issued ID to enter the front office and conduct school business. Please make sure you have your ID.
