Welcome Welcome

We are thrilled to welcome you and your child to an exciting new school year! Four-Year-Old Kindergarten is a wonderful milestone filled with discovery, new friendships, and foundational learning. Our team has been hard at work preparing warm, engaging classrooms where your little learner can thrive. To better support our families' diverse schedules and needs, we are excited to offer expanded program options this year, including full-day and 5-day-per-week options. With such diverse programming, our goal is to maintain clear, consistent 4K messaging across all sites—and one way we will do this is through monthly 4K-specific newsletters!

What to Expect Next

  • Teacher Welcome Packets: Be on the lookout for a communication from your child’s teacher with classroom-specific and site-specific information in the coming days.

  • Orientation & Open House: You should have received information regarding your site's "Meet Your Teacher" event and their first day. Click Here if you missed it!

  • Transportation Information: Busing information is now available. Please make sure to check E-LINK a few days before school starts, as students are still being added to routes, which may alter your student’s pickup and/or drop-off times.

    • To log into E-Link: Your username is your child's first name and last name (ex: student.example), and the password is their birthdate (ex: mmddyyyy).

September Learning September Learning

This month, we are diving into Theme 1, "My School and Me." Our main goal right now is building our "School Family." We will focus heavily on helping your child feel safe, loved, and comfortable in our classroom. Together with our classroom puppet, Fanny Frog, we will learn each other's names, discover classroom routines, and practice how to take care of our feelings and our friends. We will also spend time exploring books, practicing counting up to 5, and learning how to safely move our bodies in our new space. We are so excited for a wonderful year of growth!

🏠Home Connection: Here are some quick, fun ways you can reinforce our classroom learning at home this month

  • Mirror Feelings (Social-Emotional): Look into any mirror together. Practice making "happy," "sad," and "scared" faces. This directly supports our classroom social-emotional learning goals by helping your child recognize and name emotions.
  • Count Everyday Objects (Math): Count out loud from 1 to 5 using items you already have around the house. You can count pieces of cereal at breakfast, shoes by the door, or buttons on a shirt.

You don't need fancy tools or extra time, simply talking about your day, reading picture books together, singing silly rhymes, and playing creatively all help build essential language, literacy, and social skills before kindergarten. Look out for community events, local library storytimes, and early learning resources across Portage County that make incorporating these four habits fun and easy for the whole family! Or, Click Here to follow them on FB!

Family Access (lunch payment) Family Access (lunch payment)

Families with students attending full-day 4K in our school buildings can now easily manage lunch payments online using Skyward Family Access. For those who prefer traditional methods, payments can still be made directly to the school via cash or check. If you need help setting up your account or have questions about meal balances, please reach out to your child's classroom teacher or the main school office for assistance.
