We were proud to recognize our 2026 Homecoming Court, representing each of our four grade levels. Our court members were celebrated alongside their families before last Friday night’s football game, creating a memorable moment for everyone involved.

During halftime, we crowned our 2026 Homecoming Royals, Nora Meister and Reese Watson! Congratulations to Nora and Reese on this special recognition, and congratulations to all of our Homecoming Court members. We’re excited to share that our freshman students will soon be participating in the YouScience survey program. This innovative tool helps students discover their unique strengths, talents, and career interests through fun and engaging assessments. The results provide valuable insights to guide students in making informed decisions about their academic and future career paths. Our School Counselors will be using this information to be better informed in student’s interests and strengths. Freshman students have the opportunity to complete this survey at school on Tuesday, October 13th. As upperclassmen will be taking the PSAT that day, 9th graders will be engaging in this survey.

HR Imaging will be here one last time for any student who has not had their picture taken this year or any student who would like picture retakes. They will be here Friday, October 9th from approximately 8:00 am - 3:00 pm.

If a student would like a retake of their photo, simply bring back their original package and hand it to the photographer when they get their photo taken. They will reprint the same package for them using that new image.

Student who do not have a physical package to return if they ordered a digital download or if the parents have viewed the first image online and were unhappy with the photo simply show up and they will be photographed.

State law requires school districts to provide annual lessons for students in grades 6–12 on Suicide Awareness and Prevention, Safety Training and Violence, and Social Inclusion. This law is known as the Safety and Violence Education (SAVE) Students Act. To meet these requirements, schools must use a state-approved curriculum. Worthington Schools will utilize materials from the Sandy Hook Promise program. Below is Worthington School’s implementation dates:

Suicide Prevention Week (10/5-10/9): Say Something: Prevent Suicide
Start with Hello Week (10/12-10/15): Start with Hello
National Anti-Bullying Week (11/16-11/20): Say Something

Although Ohio law requires these lessons, we recognize the sensitive nature of the topics. Families may choose to opt their student out of participation. If you prefer for your child not to receive this instruction, please contact your student’s principal or school counselor. Students who do not participate will be provided with an alternative activity.

If you have any questions about the SAVE Act requirements or the instructional materials, please contact Mr. Almanson.

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Columbus Public Health is partnering with Thomas Worthington to offer a flu vaccine clinic onsite at your child’s school. This vaccine clinic will offer the flu vaccine at NO COST to all eligible students.

A completed consent form is required to have your child vaccinated. The form can be submitted by paper at the school or online. Please see the attachment below for moe details.

This onsite vaccine clinic will enable your student to receive disease-preventing vaccines at school, minimizing disruptions to their school day and/or your workday.

To submit form online please use the link provided HERE.

Join us for Worthington Schools Travel Night and discover the exciting travel opportunities available to our students in 2028! Families will learn about upcoming international trips, including opportunities to travel with TWHS teachers to The Alps & Mediterranean Coast (lead by Ms. VanFossen) and Italy & Spain (lead by Ms. Munoz).

Traveling with Worthington Schools gives students the chance to learn through firsthand experiences, build independence, broaden their perspectives, and connect classroom learning to the world around them. Whether your student is a seasoned traveler or has never traveled abroad, Travel Night is a great place to start planning their next adventure! At the meeting, we will cover trip costs, fundraising and scholarship opportunities, safety protocols, and more! Please RSVP for the meeting HERE.

Our first events of the school year are coming up quickly! Here is a look at what we have planned for our amazing staff over the next few weeks:

Staff Conference Dinner (10/14): To support our teachers during conference night, the PTSO will be providing a delicious dinner from Villa Nova.
Cards of the Month Celebration (10/23): We are honoring both our September and October awardees! The PTSO will provide refreshments to celebrate these outstanding individuals.
Morale Committee Surprises (Starting in October): Keep an eye out for special surprises throughout the year! This committee is dedicated to ensuring our teachers feel supported, valued, and appreciated all year round.
Cards Care Fundraiser (Launching Mid-November): Our annual fundraising campaign is just around the corner. The PTSO is currently planning an exciting kickoff event to start the fundraiser with a bang—stay tuned for more details!

Thank you for your continued support as we launch into a fantastic year!

Have a student athlete? Please read the athletic eligibility guidelines for BOTH OHSAA and Worthington Schools listed below. These apply for all Athletics and Marching Band along with the performance and competition activities noted on our list of Clubs and Activities.

Students must be working towards earning 2.5 credits in the preceding grading period in order to be eligible for participation.

At the conclusion of the quarter and semester, students must be passing 2.5 credits with a 60% or higher.
PE courses (Strength Training, Yoga, Wellness for Life, and Flex and Tone) do not count towards athletic eligibility.

College Credit Plus, online courses, and DACC enrollment are all great opportunities but they come with responsibility. Make sure your student still meets the minimum credit requirement.

If you are enrolled in an online Treca course, you must demonstrate that you are 50% completed with the course, and passing by the end of the 1st or 3rd quarters. You must then complete the course by the end of the 2nd and 4th quarters, which is the end of the fall and spring semester.

Please see your School Counselor, Principals, or Athletic Directors with questions.

Immunizations: The State of Ohio requires all 12th grade students to provide proof of Meninggococcal vaccine. Please provide proof of these vaccines to the school nurse or school office prior to the start of the school year. Records can be emailed to cmohrman@wscloud.org, faxed to TWHS, or brought to the office. All records are due by September 24, 2026.

Prescription Medications: may be dropped off in the office with the nurse and must have the appropriate completed documentation. You can find the prescription medication authorization form HERE. Food allergy plan HERE. Asthma Action plan HERE.
