The Panther Press
August 24, 2026
Hello Parents and Families,
Dear Families,
Our second week of school at Suntree was a success! We are so proud of the way the students have been demonstrating Panther PRIDE around campus. On Friday, we had our first assembly of the year. Students played a game to show off their knowledge of our schoolwide expectations and we also started to talk about some of the habits of leaders from Leader in Me. At Suntree... Panthers are Leaders!
Feel free to reach out with questions or concerns. You can reach me at barnett.sarah@brevardschools.org or by calling the front office at 321-242-6480.
Every Student, Every Day!
Sincerely,
Sarah Barnett
PM1 is this week!
Our students in grades 3-6 will begin taking FAST this week. This will be a Progress Monitoring session that will help us determine where students are so we can plan for instruction.
While Tuesday, 8/25 will be the first day for ELA and Thursday, 8/27 will be the first day for Math, please know that small groups, individual testing and make-up testing will continue throughout the following weeks as well.
Car Loop Reminders
1. Fill in every space - pull up as far as you can.
2. Parents - please remain in the car!
3. Have your child ready to get out of the car as soon as you enter the parking lot. This means their backpack, water bottle, lunchbox, etc. are all ready to go! This will allow your child to get out as quicly as possible once the car stops.
4. The late bell rings at 8:00am. After 8:00, you will need to park and walk your child in to the front office for a tardy slip.
5. When you are out on the main road (Jordan Blass Drive), please make sure you are driving on the correct side of the road for the direction your car is facing.
Thank you for following these processes to ensure safety and efficiency.
Change of Dismissal
If you need to change your child's dismissal plan for the day, you may do so until 1:30.
For safety reasons, we will not accept changes in dismissal after 1:30pm.
To change your child's dismissal, you may:
1. Send in a handwritten note with your child.
2. Send an email to your child's teacher AND suntreedismissals@brevardschools.org. If you send an email, you must attach a picture of your license.
Thank you for your understanding.
Student Lunches
If you are sending in a packed lunch with your child, please be sure to include a spoon, fork, napkin, etc. if he/she will need those items to eat their lunch.
Clinic Updates
Dear Parents,
Please make sure your child has a complete change of clothes in their backpack each day. This includes older students who may occasionally have accidents or spills.
Due to limited storage space, the school is unable to keep extra clothing in a variety of sizes. If your child does not have a change of clothes available when needed, a parent or guardian will be contacted to bring one to school.
Thank you for your cooperation and help in ensuring your child is comfortable throughout the school day.
Parent Lunches
We will start parent lunches after Labor Day in September. This will give us time to learn process and procedures around the school and then to get our FAST progress monitoring underway.
More information will come out as we get closer to that date!
