Good Afternoon, CUSD,
The highlight of the week has definitely been the Islander Girls Water Polo and Soccer teams! Both teams continue to advance through playoffs with games tomorrow (Saturday). Soccer will play for the D1 Championship vs. Westview and Water Polo travels to Long Beach for the SoCal Regional Finals vs. Birmingham. Best of luck to these incredibly talented student athletes as they represent CHS and Coronado!
Next Thursday, March 5th is the CHS/CMS/Coronado Community Band Concert. Come enjoy some great music performed by our talented music students from 7-8pm at the Coronado Performing Arts Center (at CHS).
Our Robotics program continues to grow! Three of our teams will be hosting CUSD’s first annual Science Fair on April 25th. Open to any student grades K-8 - see flyer below for details.
CUSD is participating along with three other Southern California school districts in a virtual career fair with Patriots to Education. If you are a veteran or active duty military spouse and are considering exploring a career in education (including teaching, campus security, and other support staff positions), you can learn more at the event on March 6. All the information and QR code to register is on the flyer below.
Enjoy the beautiful weather and have a safe and restful weekend!
Respectfully,
Karl J. Mueller

Ed Tech Parent Series
SDCOE is excited to announce the upcoming Educational Technology Parent Series, a free virtual learning opportunity open to all parents and educators across our region. This series is designed to support families and school communities in navigating educational technology and resources that empower student success.
As our educators, parents, and community come together to connect, challenge, and champion our students, we are humbled by the outpouring of compliments. What a positive testament to our CUSD family!
- Mrs. Michelle Walker is always available to help students with their math skills and homework. Whether it’s in the morning or lunchtime or even after school. She has always been so supportive towards my kids and their friends, particularly when they need math support but also when they need encouragement. In the many years I have no Mrs. Walker she has been such an incredible bright light and a positive influence with them in every way.. It is a little bit hard to express how much we appreciate her. She also is so supportive of her students attending sporting events cheering on her students.
Click here to recognize an employee or volunteer who goes above and beyond to make a difference. Those who are "caught" will receive a copy of the positive words that were shared about them and a "Caught Being Awesome" decal. Please take a minute or two to brighten someone else's day!
