Cheyenne Guidelines for Success
August 2026
Our Team for Guidelines for Success
Our school guidelines for success are designed and implemented by staff and students. Our staff team is called LASSO (Leading All Students & Staff to Successful Outcomes). The LASSO members represent each area of the building and include support and administrators. Students participate through mania sessions they volunteer to attend. We also use attendance, discipline, academic, and survey data from students and staff to determine needs and revisions. All staff are invited to our monthly meetings.
Common Area Guidelines
No Food In Class
Outside food and drink will need to be taken care of before attending to class.
Only water in resuable bottles.
No phones 7:10-2:25
Student IDs
Students are required to wear their student ID every day. The ID badges contain an RFID card that will be scanned when riding the school bus each day. The ID badge also allows students to check out library books, check in to school, and to purchase breakfast and lunch items, as well as be used for our new pass system during the school day. Having and wearing your student ID allows us to provide a safe environment by identifying Cheyenne Students and Staff as belonging to our school! IDs are required for sporting events.
Students are expected to call home when they don't have an ID. If they lose their ID it cost $5 to replace it.
Reflection forms are provided to students when they violate the guidelines for success in the common areas, classrooms, etc. Sometimes students are conferenced and reminded of expectations, but sometimes students receive lunch detention or may need to complete a task(ex. cleanup an area)
Cheyenne Reminders
Attendance Matters: Please be on time for school. Advisory is a class, and attending all courses on time is important to learning.
Chromebooks- Charge them each night, keep them closed to protect them, and damages will receive charges
Refillable Water Bottles: Students may also carry a refillable water container. It is important to put their name on the container. Refillable water containers should not contain other liquids. Do not send squeeze bottles or disposable bottled water. Students arriving to school with outside drinks will be asked to finish them in the office or cafeteria before reporting to class. We have had too many spills and disruptions involving squeeze water bottles, bottled water, outside drinks, and drinks other than water.
Water only allowed in classrooms- we do not allow outside drinks in the classrooms. Please be sure to enjoy your gatorade, starbucks, dutch brothers, sonic, etc. before entering the building. Students will be asked to finish their drink before attending to class.
Food: Breakfast and lunch are available for purchase each day in the cafeteria. We also have a snack bar with additional items for purchase. We do not allow Door Dash items, group lunches, or deliveries. Students arriving at school with outside breakfast items will be asked to remain in the office or cafeteria to complete them before reporting to class. Students should not bring full-size bags of food to school.
Classrooms are a no-food zone. Exceptions will be made for class or school activities. Students may bring their lunch in a lunchbox or disposable containers. Student names should be written inside lunchboxes for easy identification.
Dress Code Reminders
*Wear Layers, temperatures vary by class and outdoors, blankets are not allowed, hoods and hats are off inside the building
The dress code policy of Edmond Public Schools is available here and page 2. We need your help to ensure students follow it. Students violating the policy will be directed to speak with an administrator to make adjustments. These could include using available clothing options or calling home for someone to bring clothing. If we are unable to get a clothing change, an alternative placement for school work will be provided.
District Policies
As policies are periodically revised or updated, be advised that a complete listing of EPS Board Policies may be found here.
