CSD Weekly Update: April 24 2026

Reminder: Schools are Closed for Students on Tuesday, May 19, 2026
As a follow-up to the community newsletter shared last week, please see the snapshot below that summarizes the cost-saving initiatives the district is implementing to mitigate the deficit.
Happy Public School Volunteer Week!
Behind every great student is a community that cares! This week, Centennial School District is taking a moment to celebrate the incredible individuals who give their time, energy, and heart to our schools.
Whether you are reading with our elementary students, helping out in the art room, supporting our music and athletic programs, or assisting in the cafeteria and at events, you are making a lasting impact on our students' lives. You help us turn "schooling" into a true community experience.
Middle school is a pivotal time of growth, transition, and self-discovery, and having the right support system makes all the difference. Today, we are incredibly proud to highlight the outstanding work of Log College Middle School guidance counselors, Ms. Amy Oessenich and Ms. Laura Brooks!
Ms. Oessenich and Ms. Brooks go above and beyond daily to create a safe, welcoming, and empowering environment for every student who walks through their doors. Whether they are helping students navigate academic challenges, providing essential emotional support, or simply offering a listening ear, their dedication is the heartbeat of Log College. Thank you, Ms. Oessenich and Ms. Brooks, for your unwavering commitment to the well-being and success of our students!
The Return of Mini-THON at WTHS Raised over $12,000!
Mini-THON has returned to William Tennent High School after a ten year hiatus! Led by club founder Aubrey Lynch and president Reese Gersten, students organized a series of creative and impactful fundraising initiatives throughout the year, including candy grams, donation drives, ribbon sales, and dine-and-donate events.
On April 17, students came together for the highly anticipated Mini-THON celebration, where the total funds raised were revealed. Proceeds will benefit Four Diamonds, supporting pediatric cancer care at Penn State Hershey Medical Center and advancing critical research toward finding a cure. Thanks to the collective dedication and generosity of the William Tennent community, students raised an impressive $12,665—more than doubling their original goal of $5,000. Top fundraisers included Reese Gersten, Nicoletta Vafiadis, and Megan Pacchioli, whose efforts helped drive this remarkable achievement.
William Tennent High School extends its sincere gratitude to all students, families, and donors who contributed to the success of Mini-THON’s return. With such strong momentum, the community looks forward to building on this success and making an even greater impact at future events in 2027.
WTHS Student Receives VFW Voice of Democracy Scholarship
The Centennial School District is incredibly proud of William Tennent High School student Ryan Lovenstein, who recently received the 2026 Warminster VFW Voice of Democracy Scholarship!
Ryan spoke to the Auxiliary about his award-winning essay, which highlights his annual "Wiffle Ball for the Wounded Tournament." Ryan created this tournament to honor his late neighbor and WWII veteran, Sergeant Joseph Martines.
Last year, Ryan raised nearly $2,000 for the Travis Manion Foundation. This year’s tournament is set for May 16th, and he has already raised $1,000 before registrations officially opened!
Congratulations, Ryan! Your dedication to serving your community and honoring our veterans is truly an inspiration.
A Spectacular Science Day at William Tennent!
What an unforgettable day of discovery! Last Saturday, the William Tennent High School Science National Honor Society hosted an incredible Science Day, bringing the wonders of STEM directly to our community.
It was thrilling to see our hallways and classrooms packed with K-12 students, parents, and friends exploring, learning, and experimenting together. The free event featured a spectacular "Day of Science Experiments & Fun for All," highlighting the hard work and passion of our high school scientists.
A massive thank you to the dedicated students and staff of the Science National Honor Society who spent countless hours planning and running these interactive stations. And thank you to every single family who came out to support our future scientists!
Cupcake Wars at Klinger!
Klinger 8th-grade STEM and Family and Consumer Sciences students participated in Cupcake Wars in March. It is an exciting, real-world competition that transformed the classroom into a culinary innovation lab.
Students worked in collaborative teams to design, engineer, and execute cupcake creations that showcase both artistic vision and technical skill. Teams had to develop eye-catching displays while perfecting their recipes.
Cupcake Wars created a memorable learning experience where students build confidence, discover new talents, and realize that STEM isn't just about math and science—it's about creating solutions that delight people!
