February Parent Teacher Conferences
Our February conference night is Thursday February 5th from 4:30-7:00. During this time, we want to discuss current academic goals and progress, activity involvement, interests, and plans for after high school. We also want to give you the opportunity to provide us with your feedback and suggestions.
If you have not already had a conference, please anticipate an invitation from a WHS staff member for a conference. We look forward to meeting with you on our campus and strengthening the partnerships between the school and home. If you would like to request a conference during the February 5th session, please fill out the following form. Our final conference night will be March 19th.
Flex Date Change
Please take note of a one-time shift in our weekly schedule for the week of February 16th. To accommodate our Freshman 101 event, we will be moving our Flex period:
ORIGINAL DATE: Thursday, February 19th
NEW DATE: Wednesday, February 18th
What this means for you: If your student has Late Arrival, Early Release, or a CCP (College Credit Plus) schedule, please ensure they plan their transportation and course timing accordingly for this Wednesday shift.
Thursday, February 19th, will follow a standard bell schedule without the Flex block to allow our staff and students to focus on the 101 event.
Thank you for your flexibility as we support our incoming 9th graders in this important milestone!

Keeping your Child on Track with Attendance
Showing up for school has a huge impact on a student’s academic success. Even as children grow older and more independent, families play a key role in making sure students get to school every day and understand why attendance is so important for success in school and on the job.
Check out the following resources for information about positive attendance habits and what to do if your child is sick.
Prom Incentive Period
We know the excitement for our Junior/Senior Prom (April 4th) is already building! To help everyone stay focused and finish the third quarter strong, we are launching a special Prom Incentive Period.
To remain eligible to purchase a ticket and attend this year’s Prom, students must meet the following criteria starting Monday, February 23rd through Friday, March 20th:
Attendance: No more than 2 unexcused absences and/or tardies.
Conduct: Zero Out-of-School Suspensions (OSS) or In-School Suspensions (ISI).
Why the incentive? We want to ensure that all our students are in class, engaged, and making the most of their instructional time. Success in the classroom leads to a much better celebration on the dance floor!
Parents: Please help us by ensuring all appointments are scheduled outside of school hours when possible, or by providing medical notes to the front office to ensure absences are excused.
2026 Senior Information
Graduating seniors, continue to check our 2026 Senior Information document! This will be your hub for information regarding the important information, dates, and deadlines that you need to know as you prepare for graduation 2026. Check back often and contact the office if you have questions.
Cane Carryout Food Pantry
Wilmington High School has a Food Pantry done in partnership with the Free Store Food Bank. Any family with a student attending in the Wilmington City School District is eligible for this program. An interested family simply needs to complete the attached form and send it with their student and someone from the WHS Food Pantry will contact them for additional information!
We hope to curb food insecurity in our great community and continue to grow our students into community leaders!
