April 24th - Important Updates
Thank You, Davis Volunteers!
This week, Davis Elementary had the joy of celebrating the incredible volunteers who make our school such a special place!
We gathered for a volunteer appreciation breakfast, and it was such a warm and meaningful morning. Our students poured their hearts into preparing for this celebration — decorating tablecloths, creating handmade cards, and designing personalized placemats to welcome each and every volunteer.
Sharing a meal and conversation with this amazing group was a reminder of just how fortunate we are to have so many dedicated individuals who give their time and energy to our Davis Dragons community. Your presence in our hallways, classrooms, and events makes a difference that our students truly feel.
Thank you for everything you do — you are appreciated more than words can express!

Celebrating 30 Years of Mr. Marco!
Last Friday, Davis staff took a moment to honor someone who truly helps our school shine — our incredible custodian, Marco Aguilar, on his 30 years of service at Davis Elementary!
"Mr. Marco" is the heart of so much of what makes Davis a welcoming, safe, and well-run place for our students and staff every single day. He makes sure everything is in its place, anticipates the needs of those around him, and shows up with dedication and care — year after year.
We are so grateful to have Mr. Marco as a part of our Davis Dragons community. Please join us in saying thank you to someone who truly makes a difference!
Thank you, Mr. Marco!
We Love Mrs. Jezek and Mrs. Vilcherrez!
Happy Administrative Assistants Day to two of our absolute favorites! These incredible women are the heartbeat of the Davis office — caring for our students, supporting our teachers, and welcoming our families every single day, always with a smile.
Today we showered them with flowers, cards, pictures, cakes, and candies — because they deserve it all!
Thank you, Mrs. Jezek and Mrs. Vilcherrez, for everything you do to keep Davis running beautifully. We are so lucky to have you!
Davis "BEST" Challenge
Davis Students are having a weekly challenge to see which classrooms can earn the most Dragon Tails for being Respectful, Responsible and Safe! The Challenge last week was to do our BEST in the Hallways, and students rose to the challenge! The classrooms below celebrated their success with Stomp Rockets, Bubbles, and Tunes! Many thanks to Mrs. Lehner, our Student Support Interventionist, for arranging the rewards. Go Dragons!!

Join Orchestra in School Year 26-27
During school this week, Davis 2nd graders attended a brief school concert presented by the Davis 5th Grade Orchestra. They listened to and learned about the string instruments – violin, viola, cello or the string bass. We hope that families will consider having your incoming 3rd grade student be part of our wonderful Davis Orchestra!
All students entering 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade next fall are welcome to participate in the elementary string program. Our goal is to provide meaningful learning experiences in music and develop individual student achievement and appreciation of music.

District 303 Updates
Superintendent Dr. Paul Gordon shared the details of the April 13 meeting of the School Board, where members of the D303 Communitywide Education Facilities Committee joined district leadership in presenting and discussing the Committee’s Final Report.
“I feel we’re at a crossroads,” D303 parent and Facilities Committee Member Alice Froemling told the School Board. “We have great staff, great teachers, great people who are in our schools every day working with our kids. But we’ve achieved our great success not because of our facilities but in spite of our facilities… We have to do something.”
