iReady Updates
As part of our ongoing initiative to promote practice on the iReady platform, we opened our Mystery Prize Box this week. Students who met their weekly goals of 45-minutes in reading and math and two lessons in each subject are awarded an entry into our weekly drawing.
Not only does the weekly practice qualify students for the weekly drawing, it has also proven beneficial for student progress toward our yearly goals for achievement! Based on the most recent assessment, many of our students are growing at an increased rate. In other words, many of our students are poised to make more than one year's worth of growth by the end of this year. That is certainly something to celebrate!
Congrats to our winners from last week!
Remote Learning Guidelines
Parents: As we move deeper into the winter season, please review the Remote Learning guidelines with your student. At this time, we have used our allotted five (5) snow days. It is the expectation that students are engaged in Remote Learning IF we have any additional weather-related closings.
On Remote Learning Days, students are expected to log into Schoology and meet with each of their teachers via Teams. Those meetings will be brief, and students will have the afternoon hours to complete any assignments.
Please see the schedule for Remote Learning Days provided below.
- Period 1--> 9:00-9:15
- Period 2--> 9:20-9:35
- Period 3--> 9:40-9:55
- Period 4--> 10:00-10:15
- Period 5--> 10:20-10:35 (Designated iReady Time--Students work independently)
- Period 6--> 10:40-10:55
- Period 7--> 11:00-11:15
- Period 8--> 11:20-11:35

Mystery in the Library
🚨 SILLY GOOSE ALERT 🚨
A fowl crime has been committed.
Our geese are GONE.
The only evidence left behind was this ransom note:
“Your geese have been temporarily relocated by the Honk Syndicate. They are safe, well-fed, and judging you.”
We responded immediately:
“You’ve made an unfortunate mistake. You have no idea what Liam Geeson is capable of. He has a very specific set of skills…”
🕵️♂️ Here’s the problem:
We have no suspects. No clues. No idea who did it.
📚 Here’s the solution: READING.
Every book you read for the Silly Goose Reading Challenge helps us:
• Develop theories
• Identify possible suspects
• Sharpen our detective skills
• Prove we are smarter than the Honk Syndicate
Come see Mrs. Yeargan to grab your Silly Goose Sack and get started sleuthing!
