Latest TikTok Challenge
We ask that students not bring non-school related items tied to social media trends, such as the “random item” TikTok challenge. These items can be disruptive to the learning environment and may result in consequences.

Celebrating Student Authors
At NBMS, we are incredibly proud of the creativity, talent, and dedication our students continue to demonstrate both inside and outside the classroom. This week, we are thrilled to celebrate a group of outstanding 7th and 8th grade students who have earned recognition for their writing achievements—an accomplishment that truly showcases the power of student voice.
Several of our students recently entered the “Unsolved Mysteries” Young Writers Competition, and we are excited to share that all participating students will have their work published! This is an incredible honor and a testament to their imagination, effort, and willingness to take risks in their writing. Congratulations to:
- Hill Fowler
- Nora Meyer
- Zoe Jennings
- Jayden You
- Abigail Dragoo
- Haven Peterson
- Morgan Leavlit
In addition, we are proud to recognize five of our 7th grade students whose work has been featured in the kids’ issues of Mountain Xpress over the past two weeks. Congratulations to:
- Adelynn Jones
- Evie Brown
- Eliza Oliver
- Alex Zlatovcen
- Addie Morgan
Their writing has been shared with a broader community audience, an exciting opportunity that highlights both their individual talents and the strength of our ELA program.
We invite you to check out the published editions here:
These accomplishments reflect not only the hard work of our students, but also the support and encouragement of our teachers and families. At NBMS, we believe in nurturing student voice, creativity, and confidence, and this week’s recognitions are a shining example of what our students can achieve.
Please join us in celebrating these talented writers, we can’t wait to see what they accomplish next!
United Way Resource Team Meeting...You're Invited
We are excited to invite our families and community members to our next United Way Resource Team Meeting, which will take place on Tuesday, March 31 from 10:15–11:15 AM here at our school.
This meeting is a wonderful opportunity for families to get involved, share ideas, and provide valuable feedback that helps us better support our students and community. Whether you’ve attended before or this would be your first time, we welcome your voice at the table.
Our partnership with United Way continues to strengthen the resources and supports available to our students, and your input plays an important role in shaping that work.
If you are interested in attending or would like more information, please feel free to reach out to Community School Coordinator Patty Schmid or Principal Honeycutt.
We hope to see you there and appreciate your continued support of our school community!

8th Grade Application Deadlines
Students with a DAR....it's time to plan for next year.
This is a reminder to parents of students with a DAR (Discretionary Admission Release).
Please note that the DAR application window opened on February 15th. Because Infinite Campus automatically enrolls students in their zoned school for the upcoming year, it is essential that continued-placement DARs are processed promptly so those students are correctly attached to their current school in the system. The earlier these continued-placement DARs are completed, the smoother the transition will be.
