Did you Know?
Second and Third Grade-Insects
Creating satellites using biomimicry of the elytra and wings of a ladybug.
Students did a lab outside where they tested which type of food ants preferred.
Students created their own model of an insect. They were able to choose between a butterfly, ladybug, or a bee.
FIFA Build it with a Goal ⚽
Fourth- and fifth-graders created their own soccer tabletop game. They then competed to see who had everything on the rubric and first place received a trophy.
Sixth-to-eighth graders researched stadiums and built their own model. They then had a competition to see which stadium had everything that was needed and first place won a trophy.
Mission Earth: The Extreme Engineering Challenge 🌍
Fourth Grade
Fourth graders constructed and presented data centers that predict volcanic eruptions.
Fifth Grade
Fifth graders constructed and presented data centers that predict volcanic eruptions.
Sixth Grade
Sixth-grade students built warning systems that included a working alert beacon and working gates. They then presented them to their peers.
Seventh and Eighth Grade
Seventh-and-eighth-graders engineered complex disaster systems that were required to have three working ways to alert people using motors. They then presented their systems to their peers.
The Renaissance Workshop 🔨
Students learned about linear perspective and vanishing points before sketching out their own three-dimensional rooms.
The last project students participated in was building a working crane model out of popsicle sticks, string, spools, wheels, hot glue, and masking tape. Their crane had to pick up a stapler. Students were challenged even further in a competition to see whose crane could pick up the stapler the highest off the ground.

New Units
Brain and Muscles
In this Brain and Muscles STEM unit, you will participate in learning the basic function, structure, and location of the brain (6th-8th grade) and muscles (4th-5th grade) of both organs. Included in this unit will be a virtual examination, interactive, and surgical simulation to reinforce your knowledge. Dissection tools will be introduced before participating in the dissection lab of a brain or muscles.
Imagineering in a Box
Imagineering in a Box bridges the gap between creative imagination and technical execution to show how Disney theme parks are built. In this project-based unit, you will act as both artist and engineer, discovering how narrative concepts drive complex technical solutions. By merging creative storytelling with applied physics and mechanics, you will design a fully realized, interactive theme park land from scratch.
Tee Time Architects
Step into the role of a golf course architect and engineer! In Tee Time Architects, you will design and build a playable miniature golf hole using real-world golf design principles, mathematics, and physics. Your final creation will showcase your creativity, understanding of STEM concepts, and ability to design an exciting miniature golf experience for others to play and enjoy.
Brain and Muscles
Fourth- and fifth-grade students began with an introduction to muscle groups and then constructed a prosthetic hand.
Sixth-through-eighth-grade students began with an introduction to the brain and then participated in an online interactive brain surgery simulation.
Imagineering in a Box
Fourth- and fifth-grade students began by sketching out their characters.
Sixth graders began by creating a rough draft of how their ride would operate.
Seventh- and eighth-graders began by mapping out a rough idea of the layout of their theme park and sketching the two or three main areas of their theme park.
Tee Time Architects
Fourth and Fifth grade learning golf vocabulary using Quizlet.
Sixth-Eighth grade finding and measuring angles and investigating using golf balls and bumpers.
