Iowa's Healthiest Walk Day
October 1st was Iowa’s Healthiest Walk Day! Our students enjoyed getting outside for a walk. What a perfect day to stretch your legs and soak up some sunshine!
September was Suicide Prevention Month
September was suicide prevention month, a time to remember that talking about our mental health is important and that it is ok to not be ok. Our mental health - how we think, feel, and act is just as important as our physical health. We want to create a community where everyone feels safe, supported, and connected.
Mental Health check in: Just like our bodies we need to take care of our minds. Sometimes we can feel overwhelmed, sad, or hopeless. It’s normal to have ups and downs, but if you or a friend are feeling stuck in a bad place for a while, it's a sign that you might need some extra support.
Remember: you are a lifeline, but you are not the bottom line. While it’s important to be a supportive friend you are not responsible for “fixing” someone else’s problems. Your role is to connect them with a trusted adult who can help them get the professional support they need.
If a friend tells you they are having suicidal thoughts, it is important to tell a trusted adult. Do not promise to keep a secret.
Suicde is a permanent solution to a temporary problem, and there is always hope for things to get better. With the right support, people who are struggling with difficult thoughts and feelings can and do recover.
Asking for help is a sign of strength not weakness, If you or someone you know is struggling help is available 24/7.
Call or text 988 to connect with the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline: its free, confidential and available 24/7.
Contact a trusted adult: talk to your parents, a teacher, a school counselor, or another adult you trust.
Your voice matters: your voice and your actions have the power to make a difference. By checking in on your friends and speaking up when someone you see struggling, you can help create a positive and supportive school community where everyone knows they are valued and not alone.

Millie Day
Microcephaly is a condition in which the baby's head is significantly smaller than expected, often due to abnormal brain development. There is no cure for microcephaly and no way of telling how it may continue to affect Millie in the future. Microcephaly occurs in about 1 in 800-5,000 babies per year. Symptoms tend to be life long and include: small head, seizures, shaky movements, developmental delays, hearing loss, vision problems, difficulty with movement and balance.

Annual Notifications
Each year, state and federal laws, as well as School Board policies, require the district to provide a variety of notices annually to parents and guardians. We have compiled these notices here. The document lists topics, the point of contact for the Central Springs CSD, as well as links and other information. At any time, you can view the notices on our website, centralsprings.net (District menu < Annual Notifications).
Also on our website, you can view the Board of Education section (District menu < Board of Education). This section of our website includes board meeting agendas, minutes, and all of the district's policies.
