This week we explored secondary colors. Some of the activities we did were: Color Mixing Paint, Color Detectives, Model Magic Mixing, Sorting Colored Cereal, Mouse Paint story and What Makes a Rainbow? A main goal in our PreK 3 classroom is exploration while learning. Ms. Esparza's class did an awesome job being acolytes this week!

Next Week we will be discussing Pet Animals! Our Blessing of the Pets Event will start at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday morning on the South Lawn. Pets need to be accompanied by a parent and taken home after the event. Students are allowed to bring a stuffed animal to be blessed as well.

PK3 have started to check out one library book on Thursdays. They will need to return their book on Tuesdays each week (grace period to Thursday) to be able to check out a new book on Thursday. We recommend finding a special spot at our house to keep their book until time to return it to school. When a library book returns to school in their backpack we will assume you are ready to return it. We will remove it from their backpack and place in our library book box until Thursday.

Remember your child's teacher is your first contact person if you have a question/concern. We are here to enhance your child's learning forming a wonderful partnership in learning. We are looking forward to a fantastic year!

Some of the math skills we will be working on next week are:

1.) counting

2.) 1:1 correspondence (for example: 1 object to 1 space)

3.) comparisons

These skills we will be reinforced throughout the year.

At home, you can count how many pets there are in your family. Talk about how many pets your child would like to have when they grow up! Using common items for learning, it's easy and helps your child gain valuable skills.
