The Countdown is On: Get Ready for Rock-A-Thon!
Hello:
On Friday, September 18, the PTO is sponsoring our annual Rock-A-Thon! Rock-A-Thon, our largest PTO fundraiser. Every dollar raised goes right back to supporting student activities, experiences, and opportunities throughout the school year. The PTO has sent home information about Rock-A-Thon, but if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you for supporting our kids and helping to make this event such a great experience for everyone!
For Rock-A-Thon, our kids will have the opportunity to enjoy activities throughout the entire day! Students will participate as a grade level and move together from activity to activity. We will kick off the day with a building-wide Rock-A-Thon Assembly on the turf from 9:30-10:30 a.m. All families are invited to join us! Families can park in the lot between Cool Creek and the Middle School. Once parked, you can go straight to the turf and join the fun with your children.
For the remainder of the day, students will move through different “rotations” with their grade level. If you are signed up to help with the rotations or plan to walk with your child’s class from station to station, you will need to check in through the office. Anyone working the rotations or walking with their class must have a completed SafeVisitor background check. The rotations are:
Outdoor Activities: Students will participate in outdoor activities here at Cool Creek.
Asa Bales Park: Students will walk to Asa Bales Park, enjoy a picnic, and have time to play on the playground.
Rest & Movie: Students will have some time to relax and watch a movie with our Related Arts teachers. We ask that parents do not come into the building for this rotation. We want to give the students and staff time to catch their breath and have some down time.
To help get the kids excited about Rock-A-Thon, we are going to have a Spirit Week! If your child would like to join in next week, here are the dress-up days:
Monday - Neon Day
Tuesday - Hat and Crazy Socks Day
Wednesday - Wacky Wednesday
Thursday, - Green and Gold Day
Friday, - Rock-A-Thon Shirt Day, shirts provided by PTO will be on the students’ desks in the morning.
Next week we are ready to welcome parents into the cafeteria for lunch. Before you can come in for lunch you need to have your Safe Visitor background check completed. If you plan to come in, it would be helpful if you sent an email or TalkingPoint to your child’s teacher just to let them know. We have a few parent tables set-up and your child will be able to choose a friend or two to join them. Please do not share any food with another student as we have many allergies. You will be able to get your background check here.
I hope everyone has a great weekend,
Andy
Make Your Voice Heard — Register to Vote
Voting is one of the most important ways we participate in our community and our democracy. As a school district, we believe in preparing students to be engaged, informed citizens, and we encourage every eligible member of our community to exercise that same civic responsibility.
The deadline to register to vote in Indiana for the November 3 General Election is October 5, 2026.
Whether you need to register, update your registration, or simply check your voter registration status, visit IndianaVoters.in.gov.

Safe Visitor Background Checks
Planning to Volunteer? Get Ready Now!
If you think you may want to volunteer, help with a classroom party, join your child for lunch, or chaperone a field trip this year, now is a great time to complete your background check.
Westfield Washington Schools uses SafeVisitor for visitor management and background checks. Because the approval process can take 3–6 business days, completing your background check now will help ensure you're ready when an opportunity comes up. The $12.95 background check is valid for four years and can be used at any WWS school.
Don't wait until the field trip permission slip comes home—check this one off your back-to-school list now!
Protect the Tech
Chromebook Protection Plan Offer Ends Soon
Families of students in grades 3–12 can purchase optional Chromebook protection through K12 Tech for $23 per student. While the plan is not required, it is highly recommended since Chromebook repairs can be costly.
The plan covers accidental damage throughout the school year with no deductible and includes multiple damage incidents.
Please note: Students in Kindergarten–2nd grade do not need to purchase the protection plan.
