Wildcat Weekly- 3/23-3/27

Message from Principal Martinez ๐พ
Dear Wildcat Families:
We have had an extremely warm week and continue to monitor our student activities to accommodate high temperatures. You may hear your children talk about indoor recess and limited PE time with indoor activities. While we look forward the temperatures cooling down next, week, we continue to monitor our activities daily. Please help your child stay comfortable and safe while at school with these tips:
Send your child with a refillable water bottle each day.
Dress students in light, comfortable clothing and consider layers for cooler mornings.
Apply sunscreen before school if your child is sensitive to the sun.
Encourage your child to listen to their body and take breaks when needed.
Thank you for your support and helping us keep our students comfortable while they learn!
Go Wildcats!

Continuing Student Registration
PUSD 2026-2027 Continuing Student Registration is open!
Online Continuing Student Registration will be open until March 31, 2026. We MUST receive a completed digital packet for all returning students. This will allow for proper placement of your student for the 2026-2027 school year. This annual digital process allows a family to complete one single โfamilyโ packet instead of completing one packet per student. Packets can be completed using any computer, tablet or smartphone with an internet connection.
New this year, we will also require a packet to be completed for all students LEAVING the district. This will be a quick process, but needs to be completed through the portal.
Continuing Registration Steps:
Login and complete the digital registration packet via the online registration portal found here.
Review and complete any required forms located at the conclusion of the process. A packet is not considered finalized until this step is completed.
Please note: MEDICATION FORMS or ADDITIONAL SIGNED SITE SPECIFIC FORMS WILL NOT BE COLLECTED UNTIL SCHOOL BEGINS IN AUGUST FOR THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR.

Knowledge & Network, A Special Education parent Ambassador Program
The Special Education Parent Ambassadors will host a Knowledge & Network presentation titled โTurning Challenges into Strengths: A Journey with a Learning Disabilityโ on Tuesday, March 24, from 6:30โ8:00 p.m. Families may attend in person at the District Office Community Room (15250 Avenue of Science, San Diego, CA 92128) or via Zoom.
During this session, a guest speaker will share his personal journey growing up with a learning disability, reflecting on the challenges he faced, how he learned to overcome them, and how he ultimately discovered his own path to success. His story offers a relatable and inspiring perspective for both parents and individuals with disabilities, emphasizing resilience, self-acceptance, and hope.
The presentation aims to provide encouragement and insight for families navigating learning differences and disabilities, highlighting how challenges can become strengths with the right support, mindset, and determination. Families attending in person will receive a complimentary copy of the speakerโs book while supplies last.
Please RSVP here. See this flyer to learn more about the guest speaker.
