6th Grade Outdoor Adventure Trip to Estes Park
Every 6th grade Legacy Academy student is invited to participate in a science-based outdoor adventure trip at the YMCA in Estes Park, Colorado. This 3-day adventure filled with fun and learning will take place Monday, September 28th to Wednesday, September 30th at the Estes Park Center of YMCA of the Rockies. Forms Due August 24th.
Carpool Lines/Traffic Flow
As we enter our first full week of carpool, we want to remind everyone of a few procedures and rules of our carpool lines:
- Please stay in your vehicle. It is imperative for your safety and the safety of your student and our staff that you remain in your vehicle. We will safely help your student(s) from your car. If you would like to exit the vehicle or need to assist with items, car seats, etc., please pull into the visitor lot and do so there.
- Students need to exit and enter the vehicle on the curb side for safety reasons. If this cannot be accomplished, please park in the visitor parking and we will escort them across the crosswalk.
- We do our best to not allow students in the front (north carpool) line to exit or enter on the west side of the crosswalk. We are not always adequately staffed to allow students to enter or exit their cars at that spot. Please wait to be waved down the line and your student will meet you there.
- On that note…please pull all of the way down to the end of the carpool line to allow for other cars to line up behind you for students to drop off and pick up. We have staff eagerly waving you down the line to help assist your student(s).
- Please do not pull out of the carpool line. We have had some near misses with parents who have parked in the parking lot and are pulling through the through lane with parents who have cut out of line. Please be patient. We do our best to keep the line moving as smoothly and safely as possible. Our staff will let you know if you can pull out of the line.
- Please do not cut through the staff parking lot to enter or exit the front carpool line.
- Please be mindful of conversations with the staff working carpool as we would like to keep carpool moving!
- Your carpool number MUST be visible when entering the carpool line. Tinted windows make it hard to read numbers that are either on the top of the windshield, visor or on your dash. If you are missing your carpool number, we will ask you to enter the building and show a form of identification to pick up your student(s).
- Please obey traffic laws and suggestions on Legacy Trail and Legacy Circle. Elbert County Sheriff's department is monitoring the illegal left hand turns into the Legacy parking lot. Keep in mind you can only turn RIGHT into the front parking lot and RIGHT out of the front parking lot. Please, NO RIGHT hand turn onto Legacy Trail from Legacy Circle for the back carpool line. You must turn LEFT onto Legacy Trail to join the back carpool line. You can turn left or right off of Legacy Trail IF the traffic is clear.
Parent & Student Handbook
Parents! Please use the link below to read the 2026/27 Parent & Student Handbook. When you are done reading the handbook, please use the next link to sign the Handbook Agreement Form. It's going to be a great year!
Parent Portals
Legacy Academy uses two secure programs that require parents to set up passwords. Finalsite (formerly SchoolAdmin) allows parents to register and submit the needed information. Infinite Campus stores student information including grades, attendance, and assignments. Mrs. Siefers will set up your access for Infinite Campus, but you must email her at leslie.siefers@legacyk8.org.
Milk & School Lunches
MILK IS ONLY FREE IF YOUR CHILD ORDERS A HOT LUNCH. If you would like your child to have milk with their cold lunch, there is a charge of 75 cents. You can pay by check, cash, or through our online payment method. If paying by check, please write checks to Elizabeth Food Service and write your student's first and last name, as well as their teacher's name on the check memo.
***If paying cash, it is easiest to pay for the entire week. Cash must be in an envelope. We will need your student's first and last name, as well as their teacher's name, envelope and deliver it to the front office.
Legacy Academy will offer FREE hot lunches for all students. Please remember that hot lunches must be ordered by 8:15am. If your student will be arriving after that time, you must call the office (before 8:15am) to request one. If this deadline passes, you will be asked to provide a cold lunch for your child. You can view school lunch menus on our website.
Legacy Academy is excited to participate in the Healthy School Meals for All program, which Colorado voters approved. All students will have access to free, healthy, nutritious school meals in the 2026-2027 school year. Here is additional information and a few important reminders about what this means for our school and families.
- While meals will be free to all Legacy Academy students, we need to continue gathering this information to receive full access to available federal funds that support nutritional programs at our school. We ask all Legacy Academy families to complete the Household Application for Free and Reduced-Priced Lunches. Families who fill out the form may also qualify to receive discounted school fees, class materials, bus passes, utility support, and more. This form provides all household income information, which is strictly confidential and legally protected. Only one form is required for all children in the household. Immigration, migrant, citizenship, or refugee status is not required when completing the form.
If you have questions about completing the Household Application for Free and Reduced-Price Lunches, please contact the Elizabeth School District's nutrition department at tmaher@esdk12.org or 303-646-1850.
Learn more about the Healthy School Meals for All program in this short video. To enter information for your online Free and Reduced Application, you must create an account with PaySchools (link below) using your student's School ID number. To get their ID number, call the office on Tuesdays between 9am-1pm to request it or wait until the office staff returns on August 3rd. You only need to submit one application per household.
