Prayer of Gratitude

Loving God,

We thank You for the gift of Mary, whose faith, courage and trust helped bring Your love into the world through Jesus.

We are grateful for the people in our lives who guide, nurture and encourage us each day. Help us, like Mary, to say "yes" to Your call and to share Your love through our words and actions.

May our hearts rejoice in Your goodness, and may we always give thanks for the many blessings You have given us.

Dear Community Members,

As I reflect on the past week at Holy Spirit School, I am filled with immense gratitude for the many moments that remind us what a special community we are blessed to be part of.

The Princess and the Pea

Our Year 2 students delighted the community with their performance of The Princess and the Pea. Their confidence, clear voice projection and eloquent speaking were outstanding, and they should be so incredibly proud of themselves. Their success continued at the Catholic Performing Arts Festival, where they were awarded an Excellent rating across all areas of the judging criteria. I would like to thank our staff involved, Year 2 families for their support and of course our amazing kids!

Father’s Day

Last Friday we enjoyed a fantastic Father's Day Breakfast, hosted by our P&F. Families gathered to enjoy bacon and egg rolls, whilst Father's Day socks were on sale and 3 special Father’s Day hampers were drawn. It was a wonderful atmosphere displaying that customary Holy Spirit community feel. The morning was complemented by our Father's Day Mass, where Fr Emmanuel spoke beautifully about the many ways fathers and father figures support, guide and care for their families.

Principal Appointment Process

Last week brought the announcement that I will conclude my time as Principal of Holy Spirit at the end of 2026. While it is bittersweet news personally, I have been deeply touched by the support and kindness shown by our community. More importantly, the process of appointing our next Principal is already underway. Representatives from our Parish, P&F and School Advisory Council will meet this week to provide community input, while our staff will also play an important role in the process. The appointment timeline is typically six to eight weeks, and we are hopeful that the successful candidate will be announced around the middle of Term 4.

Dockers Vs Cats

This Friday night will be an important occasion for both the Dockers and the Cats. As you know my allegiance is firmly in the Cats camp, however I do believe that the Dockers will bounce back from their defeat to Hawthorn. Good luck to all supporters out there, whichever team you are backing.

The Electric Spirits have won the Catholic Performing Arts Timothy Costelloe Award for the Primary Contemporary Band Section! This is the 3rd time Holy Spirit has won this award in the last 3 years. Congratulations to all our musicians and to Mr Dom Papa for his outstanding guidance!

Holy Spirit has been represented at the interschool Speak Up competition this term. Quinlin, Amy and Eva competed in the regional finals, with Quinlin and Eva advancing to the semi-finals and we have been informed that both Quinlin and Eva will be representing Holy Spirit at the Grand Final held next week! Another proud moment for Holy Spirit!

Laurence has been awarded the Floreat Fellowship Mateship Award through the Floreat Cub Scout Unit. Please see the picture below for more information about this prestigious award. Well done Laurie!

We welcome all Kindy to Year 6 families of Holy Spirit School! Kids Academy Out of School Hours Care is a WA privately owned Child Care. The owner Sharon Soares has been in the industry for many years and is passionate about delivering the highest standard of care and service to children and their families which includes before school care, after school care and vacation care. Kids Academy Before and After School Programs cater for children aged 4 – 12 years, outside school hours. The programs focus on age-appropriate and creative play activities through a variety of choices which encourage children to extend their social development and build friendships in a secure environment.

Activities may include sports, reading and cooking. Children may also do their homework for a limited period during their Before or After-School care.

A reminder that our closest Catholic Co-Educational High Schools (John XXIII College, Newman College and Sacred Heart College) are highly competitive and often have large waiting lists.

They run their enrolment process 3 years prior to start i.e. current Year 4 families are working through this process.

Each school’s enrolments process is different, so please read their website's enrolment page to ensure you have all the information to make an informed decision.

Fridays 8:15am to 9:00am

We understand that not everyone can make it to the shop during opening hours, however

WE KINDLY ASK THAT YOU DO NOT ENTER THE UNIFORM SHOP WITHOUT PERMISSION.

Even if the door is unlocked, please speak with the front office before entering the store.

We welcome your donations to sell at the shop. Please just drop them at the office.
