Dear Spring Glen Families,

Happy Friday, and Happy October! 🍂🥬 Here are some highlights from the week:

  1. Our First PAWSitive Behavior Whole-School Reward! SPG students have been working hard to show PAWS and earn golden tickets. Last week, we set our first goal at 750 tickets. As of today, students have earned a total of 896 - blowing that goal out of the water. Next Friday, 10/9, will be a whole-school PJ Day! 🥳
  2. Conferences are coming up! Conferences will be held on Wednesday, October 21st from 5:30-7:30 and Thursday, October 22nd from 1:30-3:30 and 5:30-7:30. On Thursday of this week, teachers sent out information how to sign up. Please use the Appointment Sign Up feature through ParentSquare to select a time to meet with your child's teacher(s). Please note: if you have met with your child's teacher for a PPT or 504 meeting within a 4 week window either before or after conferences dates, a conference will not be held for your student as these meetings serve as a conference. Please reach out to me directly with questions about this.
  3. Our Letter Day Calendar can be found at the bottom of the Spotlight each week (under helpful resources). All letter days have also been loaded into our school calendar, which can found on our website: https://springglen.hamden.org
  4. SPG Caregiver Survey: If you have not already done so and would like to, I appreciate you taking 5 minutes to complete the survey at the link below. The responses to these prompts will help to inform the work we do moving forward, while also giving me helpful information on all the wonderful things already happening here (and there's a lot of them!)
  5. This coming Tuesday, October 6th is Picture Day! Scan the QR code below to order photos.

Enjoy the weekend.

After reading "Chrysanthemum" by Kevin Henkes, first grade students wrote sentences and drew a picture about what makes their name special - celebrating all of the things that make us unique and who we are!

🏥 News From the Nurse's Office 🏥 News From the Nurse's Office

Our school nurse’s office is in need of clothing donations for students who may need a change of clothes during the school day. Sometimes children have accidents or soil their clothes during lunch, recess, or other school activities, and having extra clothing available helps them feel comfortable and ready to return to learning.

We would greatly appreciate donations of gently used or new clothing. We are specifically in need of boys’ small pants, boys' extra-small pants, and new underwear of every child size.

Donations can be dropped off in the main office. Thank you for your generosity and for helping us keep our students comfortable, happy, and ready to learn!️
