A Note from the Principal
Happy February, Ranger Families!
With this unseasonably warm weather, it is hard to believe we just entered the month of February! This month promises to be filled with learning and growth. We will have STAAR field testing on February 6th, with the campus being closed to all visitors. Interim STAAR testing in Math and Reading for grades 3rd - 5th and Science for fifth grade will also take place over the next few weeks.
.
Please continue to communicate with your student's teacher to maintain a positive home-school partnership. Also, please take a moment to encourage your child to engage fully in the learning and to be respectful of others, students and staff. Together, we make Timber Ridge ES a place where all students feel they belong and can be successful.
In partnership,
Stephani Grisham
Timber Ridge ES Principal
Parent and Teacher Partnership
Timber Ridge ES is committed to frequent two-way communication with families about their child's learning. We value and appreciate your partnership as we collaborate to ensure growth and learning for each student. If you have a concern, we ask that you allow us the opportunity to investigate and respond. If the concern is about a classroom situation, we ask that you first attempt to resolve the concern with your child's teacher. If you still have a concern after speaking with your child's teacher, please feel free to reach out to an administrator and we will be glad to assist you.

Ranger Parents and Guardians,
The month of February we will be learning all about fairness in our social emotional lessons. Fairness–treating people according to their needs. This does not always mean it will be equal.
Fairness Game for Home:
Make a list of some of your family rules and the consequences of not following them. Ask your children what their rules would be if they were in charge of making them. List these next to the actual rules. Discuss the rules one by one. Ask, “Is this one fair? Why or why not? What would happen if we adopted this rule?” Compare these to the first list in terms of fairness. Being fair means: · Play by the rules · Take turns and share · Keep an open mind and listen to others. Decide what will happen if the rules are broken. Consider revising some of the current rules if youth can show how their suggestions are fairer. Sincerely,
Mrs. DeVito, Mrs. Mobley, and Mr. Price
