Monitoring Inclement Weather

Austin ISD has cancelled school for Tuesday (1/31) & Wednesday (2/1) due to weather conditions.

We are closely monitoring weather conditions on campus, as well as receiving guidance from the district emergency management/weather team. Any changes to the school schedule/afterschool programming this week will be shared via School Messenger with all Mills families.

District Cold Weather Guidelines regarding Recess/Outdoor PE:

Wind Chill that is below 30 degrees, all outdoor activities (Recess, etc.) will be taken indoors.

Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for the often-unpredictable Austin weather. Parents are welcome to check in with the front office and check the campus Lost & Found. The collection of jackets and coats is growing. Please remember to label your child's jackets/coats as this helps us reunite items with students.

Covid & Overall Health Reminders

Although we no longer send daily emails for Covid cases, we want our community to be aware we have seen an increase in Covid cases recently. Students/staff may voluntarily wear masks if they wish to be more cautious. The district policy remains that if anyone tests positive for Covid they must stay home for 5 full days (test day is day zero) and wear a mask on campus for the next 5 days. https://www.austinisd.org/student-health/covid-19

All new and returning families must register their child(ren) for the 23-24 school year. Please don't delay. Registering your child in a timely manner helps us with communicating staffing changes with the school district.
