Dear PCK Families,

As we look forward to a restful Thanksgiving break, I’m reaching out to ask for your support in the Foundation's Annual Giving Campaign. Your generosity directly strengthens the programs and opportunities that make our school exceptional.

Excellence is intentional, and every contribution helps us invest in the resources our students and teachers need to achieve that excellence. If PCK has made a positive impact on your family, I invite you to consider making a gift that reflects that value. Any amount goes a long way in helping us to achieve our mission of developing critical thinkers, responsible citizens and future leaders.

Thank you for your continued partnership and for helping ensure a future of excellence for PCK students and staff.

With appreciation,

Dr. Leanne Weyman

Hello PCK Families,

As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, we want to share how thankful we are for each of our families at PCK. Your commitment to choice education and your belief in selecting a school that aligns with your values and aspirations for your children creates a powerful partnership. Your commitment to your child, shown through intentional daily encouragement and engaged learning at home, creates well-prepared students.

Together, we are committed to excellence that is shaped by hard work, grit, and perseverance. As a team, we create a powerful environment that supports our students and celebrates the results of their dedication. As we enter this season of gratitude, please know how deeply we appreciate your partnership, your support, and the excellence you help champion in our school.

This break offers a wonderful opportunity to pause, rest, and reconnect. During this time we encourage you to spend time doing things that spark curiosity and the joy of learning in your household:

  • Curl up with a great novel together (check out these recommendations from our neighboring Core Knowledge Charter School).

  • Learn something new about your child's passions.

  • Capture your family adventures in a simple writing journal.

  • Play a board or card game.

  • Learn a new skill alongside your child.

When parents show excitement about learning, children can feel it. These simple moments, reading together, asking questions, and exploring interests, help strengthen the love of learning we all desire to nurture in our children. Your engagement makes a lasting difference.

Wishing you and your family a warm, joyful, and restful Thanksgiving break.

We can't wait to hear the tales of your break!

With gratitude,

Stephanie Harper

Hello PCK Families!

I first wanted to say thank you for your time and attention regarding the traffic safety videos. I've had mostly good feedback regarding having visuals of the areas being discussed. I'll continue putting more out as any additional concerns arise.

As we close in on winter break and the start of the next semester, I wanted to share more information about the classroom education I've been conducting and will continue into January and February. The Y.E.S.S. (Youth Education and Safety in Schools) program, which is through the Digital Future Initiative (DFI), has been taught at PCK for the last few years to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. The three topics presented are digital citizenship, healthy relationships, and substance use. Each lesson is age-specific and is presented in a manner to target specific education for that grade level.

As your students begin having these classes, please have open conversations with them regarding what they learned. If you have any questions about the lessons, I encourage you to reach out.

I hope everyone has an amazing Thanksgiving break that is full of good food and great company!

Stay healthy, happy, and safe!

Deputy Sandifer

Last night, the Board heard from Deputy Sandifer and PCK’s Dean of Students, Mr. Minshall. They spoke about their shared goal of ensuring that PCK remains a welcoming environment for everyone. They also highlighted the standards in place, such as the PCK Behavior Matrix, that help maintain a safe and supportive school community.

Following their presentation, the Board received the Director’s Report from Dr. Weyman. She discussed the school's desire to increase communication with parents around the values and beliefs that must be shared in order to provide the most supported experience for students.

The Board also received an update on the Foundation’s Annual Giving Campaign, approved an update to the enrollment policy, and reviewed school finances and the most recent audit.

The next Board of Directors meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 16, at 6:30 p.m. in the Events Center. All community members are welcome to attend.

We warmly invite the PCK community to join us for an opportunity to engage with our team and learn more about the vital role we play within Parker Core Knowledge.

The SAC serves an essential function by providing accountability in an advisory capacity. Our purpose is to inform, encourage, and create opportunities for parents or guardians to engage meaningfully with the school's performance, budget and improvement plans.
