Planning the Future: Post Graduation Opportunities
Dear Parents and Guardians,
In line with our commitment to give our students a competitive advantage, I would like to remind you that our district has many resources to introduce your student to career exploration and planning for their future after high school.
Encourage your student to meet with their school counselor or college adviser
Help them engage and explore options using their Xello student account.
Learn about your student’s planning using Xello Family. Access may be requested via your students' school counselor.
Learn even more at pathfinder.mitalent.org/resources
Together, these resources offer an in-depth look at careers and the educational paths needed to pursue them. With these tools, your child will have an awareness of what coursework, training, or certificates are needed to get the job of their dreams. These are great tools to use as you and your child have conversations about future careers. Please feel free to reach out to your child’s school counselor if you have any further questions.
Best regards,
Steve Gray

"Every Wildcat. Every Day. Attendance Matters!"
Getting into the habit of daily attendance and arriving on time each day is more important than ever. Being punctual sets a positive tone for the day, ensures students don't miss critical instruction, and builds lifelong habits. To stay on track academically and earn course credits, students should aim for no more than 9 absences per semester.
Consistent attendance and arriving on time help to:
Reduce stress
Make it easier to connect with friends and teachers
Support learning
Chromebooks
Middle school students will not be issued individual Chromebooks for daily use. Instead, we are using classroom Chromebook sets during the school day.
If a student needs to complete homework that requires online access, the office will have a limited number of loaner Chromebooks available to be checked out at the end of the day. These devices are intended for overnight use to support academic needs at home. They will be required to be returned the loaner Chromebook the following morning.
We appreciate your understanding. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school office.
Medication Used at School
This is a friendly reminder that all medications taken during school hours must be checked in through the office and have the necessary paperwork filled out. Please stop by the office for more information or to pick up medical forms.
Cell Phone Policy
The cell phone policy at NBC states that phones are left in the student's locker and turned off between the hours of 7:25 am - 2:45 pm.
Students are required to use the office phone if they need to contact parents. If your student doesn't know how to contact you, the office staff will happily look your number up in PowerSchool.
Cross Walk Safety
The safety of our students is our top priority. We would like to remind all families about the importance of using crosswalks and the responsibility of drivers to yield to students as they walk to and from school on Stanton Blvd. Please encourage your children to always use designated crosswalks when crossing streets, whether they are walking to school or after-school activities. Students should avoid walking across the parking lot.
After School Pick Up Procedure
When picking up students after school, please pull in and park. Please do not park along the side walk in front of our school. It causes congestion in the front of our school and blocks emergency lanes and the road coming into the school. Do not stop in the driving lanes or block crosswalks. This creates unsafe conditions for students and delays the flow of traffic.
We understand pick-up time can be busy. Please remain patient and respectful of staff and other families. Safety is our top priority, even during busy times.
Attention Sixth Grade Parents:
Sixth grade camp this fall at Grace Adventures will be on October 15th. Permission slips and fee of $75.00 due by Friday September 18th. Families may take advantage of an "early bird" rate of $70.00 if the permission slip and fee is paid by Friday September 11th.
Falls Sports Schedules 2026
If your student is interested in playing sports at the middle school, they will need to have a MHSAA Physical Form filled out by a physician and uploaded into Final Forms.
Parents will need to register their student on Final Forms for all of the sports their student would like to be participate in and complete the necessary documents.
