Dear BCSD Families- Please be advised that we are closely monitoring the projected cold front for Monday (12/15/2025) in conjunction with Emergency Management. As the temperature is expected to be well below usual norms, we encourage families to dress their student(s) warmly for Monday. Additionally, please be advised that students will not have outside recess if the temperature is too low, and outdoor afterschool activities may be moved indoors if necessary. You are invited to our SIC!
Our new School Improvement Chairpersons would like to invite you to our Next SIC Meeting -December 15th at 5:00 (we meet in the Library, enter by the Kindergarten Playground)
We are looking forward to our next SIC meeting on Monday. While we will be covering several topics - including the transition to Parent Square for communications - we will be spending the majority of our time aligning on the goals for the rest of this year and brainstorming strategies to achieve them. These meetings are open to all members of our community, and we would love to have you attend and share your thoughts.
Catherine Marks and Kaylin Clonch, SIC Co-Chairs

New School Communication App! PARENT SQUARE!
- We’re excited to announce that staring in January, our school will be using ParentSquare for all school-to-home communication. This change will make it easier for you to receive important updates, stay connected with teachers, and participate in school life. We will no longer use Class Dojo or Bright Arrow for communications with teachers starting in January. I will use both Parent Square & BrightArrol for the next couple of weeks to help with the transition.
What to expect:
- Important messages (school-wide and classroom) are delivered by email, text, and app notifications.
Easy translation of messages into your preferred language.
Secure messaging with teachers and staff — one place for questions and replies.
Event invitations, volunteer sign-ups, and permission forms can be completed online.
Class calendars, photos, and classroom posts so you can see what’s happening day‑to‑day.
Next steps
You’ll receive an invitation email or text from ParentSquare with simple setup instructions. Please follow the link to create your account and confirm your contact preferences.
If you already use the ParentSquare app, ensure notifications are enabled so you don’t miss messages.
Need help? Check out the district webpage for more help and Frequently Asked Questions.
We appreciate your partnership and look forward to better, faster communication with all families through ParentSquare.
