The year is drawing to a close with a flurry of engaging activities. The week began with our elementary students watching the graduating seniors walk by in their caps and gowns, offering a glimpse of their own future aspirations. Today, our fifth graders embarked on their Science and STEM-focused Chicago Field Trip, while the fourth grade hosted their annual MAC 500. This exciting event saw students design and race their own cars, recreating the full Indianapolis 500 experience complete with Mrs. Byrn's rendition of "Back Home Again in Indiana," the National Anthem, a pace car, 500 Princesses, pit crews, and the iconic checkered flag. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to apply their STEM skills while celebrating a beloved racing tradition.

From Guidance From Guidance

We've noticed kids are having big feelings and more trouble getting along lately. Please talk to your child about:

  • Getting enough sleep: This helps them handle feelings better.
  • Taking a breath: When upset, a deep breath can help.
  • Thinking first: Remind them to think before they act.

We want everyone to finish the year feeling good and using their ways to cope with feelings.

Sunscreen & Water Bottles

Please be sure your child brings their own sunscreen for field day. They spend a lot of time outdoors. Students are not permitted to share sunscreen with others, to avoid any allergic reactions. They must reapply sunscreen themselves. Water will be available for students throughout the day, however, they are welcome to bring their own water bottles. They are responsible for keeping track of their water bottles.
