Mrs. Aviña's spanish class celebrated Three Kings Day by learning about this Hispanic tradition. It is a very dear and important celebration because kids receive their Christmas presents on January 6 (Epiphany) from the 3 kings instead of Santa. They also learn that the Christmas season in Hispanic homes last longer, some until February 2nd. Students also made their own king/queen crowns and wore it in school. They also got a "caramelo" (candy cane) from the three kings today.
The NHS students went over to the elementary school to help Santa check in with the students there!
Special thank you to everyone who attended or donated their time or talents to the annual FFA Toy Show!
Sixth graders were challenged to manage a "renewable" popcorn resource in their villages! Through teamwork and strategy, they learned the importance of sustainability and conserving renewable resources.
Congratulations to our E-sports team for being undefeated in the Blockhouse BEL league!
7th Grade Drama students presented the scripts they wrote before they went to break! Bravo!
Merry Christmas from Mrs. Aviña's spanish students!

Keep the Huskies Healthy!
Unfortunately as we head into colder months, the number of illnesses rise. If your student is ill, please keep them home. Promptly call the school with any symptoms your child is experiencing (fever, vomiting, sore throat, body ache, cough) and keep them home until they're symptom free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducers. If you take your student to the doctor for their symptoms, please have your student turn in the doctor's note to the office when they return to school. This will ensure the absence does not negatively affect them for truancy purposes.
