Parents,

I know you are all aware of the upcoming weather forecast. I wanted to provide you with some clarity on what is expected by our students for E-Learning.

All teachers are sending home up to 4 days of packets today with students. This is current information that students are learning in class. The teachers will be available for office hours via Class Dojo and email, if you or your child has any questions. Students will have up to 5 days, once we return to school, to turn in their packets to record their attendance as present. If students do not turn in their packets, these will be marked as unexcused days.

As of today, ASD2 is only having E Learning on January 26 and 27. Decisions will be made on additional E-Learning days once the storm is here. The other two days of packets are only being sent home as precautionary, and will only need to be completed if additional E-Learning Days are decided.

January 26 - E Learning Day (Complete Day 1 work)

January 27 - E Learning Day (Complete Day 2 work)

January 28 - To Be Determined

January 29 - To Be Determined

January 30 - To Be Determined

Weather permitting, we will open the school office the morning of the E-Learning days to answer any questions.

I pray everyone stays warm and safe!

BES sends home a paper copy of quarterly Progress Reports and Report Cards to every student. Here are two ways to keep up with your child's grades throughout the school year...

  1. Weekly Progress Email - You should be receiving a weekly email with your child's progress report. If you are not, please call the office to get your email address updated in our system.
  2. Parent Portal App - Download the PowerSchool App today to receive grade notifications!
    • Parents who've created an account, but unable to login should contact the PowerSchool Helpdesk. Provide your name, your child's name, and a contact phone number where you can be reached when emailing.

Attendance Reminders Attendance Reminders

Tardy - To be considered on time, the child must be sitting in their classroom at 7:45am. At 7:45am, our front door locks. The parent/guardian/driver will be expected to park their car and sign their child in at this point. Officer Hodges, our School Resource Officer, will be there to remind whoever is dropping off your child. Our instruction begins at 7:45am, so being late for school results in loss of instruction.

Early Dismissal - Students will not be allowed to be dismissed between 2:00-2:30pm for Early Dismissal. Please plan to pick your child up before then, if you have a doctor's appointment. Repeated Early Dismissals could result in an Attendance Plan.

Absences - It is imperative that your child is at school. We have a new system, and will be monitoring attendance very closely. You are allowed to turn in up to 5 Parent Notes to cover an unexcused absence. An example of a Parent Note would be a low grade fever, throwing up, etc. If you take your child to the doctor, please be sure to turn in the medical note. A student is considered truant with 3 consecutive absences or 5 unlawful absences. At this point, an Attendance Meeting will be scheduled with the Parent/Guardian and administration to create an Attendance Plan. Continued truancy will result in turning the plan over to the Anderson County Board.
