Weekly Update

What an Awesome First Week!
Students were so excited to see their friends, meet their teachers, and get back to the school routine. All last week, students had an opportunity to practice classroom discipline procedures. These are crucial to the learning process and will allow for your child as well as others to focus during learning.
Regular and timely attendance is also crucial for your child's academic success. This includes the end of the school day. Teachers are often providing closure to a lesson to ensure content mastery. Please do not pick your child up early unless it is medically necessary. In that case, a doctor's note is needed the following day. Signing your child out early on a regular basis without medical documentation my result in truancy consequences.
A special thank you goes out to all of the grace and understanding from the parents/guardians during dismissal, especially after the first day. The dismissal time continues to improve on a daily basis and we will continue to look for additional ways to improve the process. Starting this week, students will begin to walk to class on their own. Parents can give their child a hug and wish them well in the entry way. Staff and teachers will be on duty in the hallways to assist your child in locating their classroom.
Looking forward to another great week!
