Canvas Tip for Parents
Having trouble getting your student into Canvas at home? Check which Google account is signed in on the device! If another family member is logged into Google, Canvas may automatically connect to the wrong account.
Quick Fix: Have your student sign out of other Google accounts and make sure they are logged in with their Nebo Student Google account before opening Canvas.
Student Handbook
Our SCMS Student Handbook has everything students and families need to know about our school in one place. From PACK expectations and attendance to bell schedules, safety, technology, and helpful school links, it’s a great resource to keep handy throughout the year.
Bell to Bell: No Cell
Cell phones and personal electronic devices must be silenced and stored in a backpack or locker from the first bell to the last bell; including passing time and lunch.
- Need to contact home? Students can use the Main Office phone.
- Parents needing to reach a student should call the school office.
- Medical exceptions require school approval.
- Phones seen during the school day will be turned into the office. The first occurrence is a warning; repeated violations may result in parent/guardian contact and administrative intervention.
Nebo School District App

Wait until 8th
A Message from the SCMS PTA
Some parents in Springville and across the country are choosing to wait to give their children a smartphone. The Wait Until 8th initiative is a parent-led effort that encourages families to wait until at least the end of 8th grade before giving their child a smartphone and until at least age 16 for social media.
There’s no one-size-fits-all approach for every family, but if you’re interested in waiting, connecting with other families, or learning more, the Wait Until 8th nonprofit provides resources and a way for families to make a pledge to wait.
