Safety Safety

In an effort to improve traffic for drop off and pick up, we are asking that you do not park on the northbound side of 6th street or the southbound side of 5th street. Also, do not block intersections, make U turns, or 3 point turns on any of the streets during drop off/pick up time for safety reasons.

Students should be able to exit the car on their own if using the drop off area. If you need to walk your student to the gate please be considerate and do not park in the drop off zones.

School Pictures ๐Ÿ“ท School Pictures ๐Ÿ“ท

Fall picture day is just around the corner. Students are required to wear their uniforms for Fall pictures, as these will serve as their official school photos. There will be a free-dress opportunity during Spring picture day.

Join us for a cup of coffee with our community partner, the Alhambra Police Department, on Thursday, October 10th, at the corner of Norwood Place and Sixth Street. "Coffee with a Cop" events are a great way to build trust and strengthen our sense of community. The APD has been a valuable partner in ensuring the safety and well-being of the Ramona community. We look forward to seeing you there!

BBQ Lunch๐ŸŒญ BBQ Lunch๐ŸŒญ

Get ready for a barbecue! Our incredible District Food and Nutrition Services team will be grilling up delicious hot dogs for students to enjoy during their regular lunch period. What a special treat!

Respect - Character Strong Respect - Character Strong

Each month, we celebrate Student of the Month, recognizing students who exemplify outstanding character and behavior aligned with Character Strong traits. This month, we honored students for demonstrating respect.

At Ramona, our Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) framework emphasizes the 3 R's: Respect, Responsibility, and Relationships.

Fall Festival ๐ŸŽƒ Fall Festival ๐ŸŽƒ

Join us for a fun-filled Fall Festival, hosted by our wonderful PTA board! Alongside the board, many dedicated parents have volunteered their time to make this event possible. Mark your calendars for the event, which will take place from 4-7 p.m. on festival day. Upon arrival, guests are kindly asked to enter through the Fifth or Sixth Street gates. Please note that the staff parking lot will be reserved for staff use only. We can't wait to celebrate with you!

๐Ÿ‘ป Halloween Parade ๐Ÿ‘ป Halloween Parade

Join us for our Halloween Parade on Wednesday, October 30th, open to all grade levels! The Fifth and Sixth Street gates will open around 8:30 a.m., once all classes have gathered on the blacktop. A designated area will be set up for family members to enjoy the parade. If adults choose to wear costumes, please ensure they are appropriate, and note that face masks of any kind are not permitted for safety reasons.

Costume Rules ๐ŸงŸโ€โ™‚๏ธ Costume Rules ๐ŸงŸโ€โ™‚๏ธ

1. Halloween costumes must comply with the AUSD dress code and must be appropriate. Students who wear costumes that does not comply with the guidelines will not be able to participate in the parade.

2. Costumes may not include weapons, replica weapons, or toy weapons of any kind.

3. Students may not wear any type of face coverings such as masks.

4. All students must be able to change out of the costumes without assistance from an adult.

Treats ๐Ÿ‘ป ๐ŸŽƒ Treats ๐Ÿ‘ป ๐ŸŽƒ

Please notify your childโ€™s teacher if you are interested in providing a small treat for the class, so we can ensure it is safe for students with allergies. Kindly inform the teacher at least two days in advance. We highly encourage non-food items such as Fall/Halloween pencils, stickers, and similar goodies. To avoid classroom interruptions, please send all goodies with your child in the morning, rather than dropping them off at the office during the day.

Construction Updates Construction Updates

We are still awaiting approvals from the Department of State Architect to move forward with the cafeteria construction, which will expand the indoor dining area. Additionally, we plan to update our auditorium with a welcoming outdoor space, air conditioning, and overall beautification. To minimize disruption, construction will be done in phases, focusing on one location at a time to keep the school operational. Once approvals are received, a portable unit will be set up near the staff parking lot where the current family center is located. Please remind students to avoid any restricted areas, as we will review these safety guidelines at school.

In the meantime, we are also installing a new public announcement system and adding more security cameras to enhance safety on campus.
