Neptune's News
Greetings Families,
Yes, it is that time already. Time for the first progress reports and Parent-Teacher Conferences (PTCs) for the school year. Next Tuesday, September 16, is an Early Release Day. Students are dismissed at 12:15 pm allowing teachers to prepare for the PTCs later that afternoon. Conferences will begin at 2:00 pm and end at 5:30 pm. As these meetings are just brief, 15-minute check-ins, we ask the following:
* Be on time. Allow yourself enough time to check in at the front office and obtain a visitor's badge.
* Respect other people's time. This is only a 15-minute window of time and, most likely, there is someone scheduled in the time slot right after you. If you wish to have a longer meeting, schedule one for a later date.
* Monitor your children while on campus, keeping them with you. Nobody should be wandering campus or playing inside classrooms while PTCs are going on.
* These are individual teacher conferences. If you would like multiple teachers to meet with you at the same time, schedule that conference for a different day.
* Remember that teachers don't give grades, students earn grades. Our teachers are here to work collaboratively with you and your child. That means everyone involved shares a common purpose and responsibility.
We look forward to meeting with you soon and sharing the progress you child has made in the first weeks of school.

Last week the students finished IXL Reading and Math testing and moved on to PM1(Progress Monitoring 1) of the FAST. Our goal is to have all students complete the FAST reading and math this week. You can help by ensuring your child comes to school daily, on time, and stays for the entire day.

Please remind your child that all wireless devices including, but are not limited to, cell phones, tablets, smart watches, speakers, and ear buds MUST be turned off and placed into their backpacks from the first bell of the day to the dismissal bell at 3:15 pm.
Until next time,
Kathy
GRANDPARENTS DAY BREAKFAST
Calling All Grandparents...
Tomorrow morning, Monday, September 8, from 7:30 am to 8:30 am, our students will have the opportunity to celebrate Grandparents Day. A light breakfast consisting of pastries, juice, and coffee will be provided. Students must be accompanied by their grandparent(s) to attend. All grandparents must check in at the front office with their driver license. Once you have received a visitor's badge, you will be directed to the media center. We can't wait to celebrate all of the amazing grandparents who support their grandchildren here at Pepin Academies New Port Richey!
