Message from Mrs. Hill

Happy October! This month we are focusing on Responsibility for our SEL lessons. The month of October is National Bullying Awareness Month and Red Ribbon Week is October 26th-October 30th. I've added some resources below for Red Ribbon Week and Bullying Awareness Month.

Coffee with the Counselor

We held our 1st coffee with the counselor over GT awareness in September. I've added the PowerPoint presentation here for your review if you weren't able to attend. Students can be referred for testing into the GT program once per school year. The referral form is available here and will be open until January 8th.

National Bullying Awareness Month

October is National Bullying Awareness Month. Each classroom participated in a lesson over identifying what bullying is, the difference between bullying and conflict and what students can do to help stop and report bullying. You can learn more about the Character Strong lessons in the attachment below.

Red Ribbon Week

We are getting ready for Red Ribbon Week® 2026 on October 26th-October 30th – this year’s theme is: "Make a Difference. Be a Hero. Stay Drug Free." Red Ribbon week is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the nation. This special week is all about promoting healthy choices and saying no to drugs. Students will learn the importance of making safe decisions while joining in on fun, themed dress-up days and classroom activities. It's a great opportunity to start conversations at home about staying safe, being kind, and making smart choices every day!

If you'd like to learn more about Red Ribbon Week and find resources to use at home in conversations visit https://www.redribbon.org/.
