Technology Safety Technology Safety

As part of Anoka-Hennepin Schools' commitment to student safety and well-being, we want to inform you about an optional tool called GoGuardian Parent. This application provides parents with insights into their child’s online activity within their school-managed accounts and devices including:

  • Visibility into browsing history

  • Website Filtering allows guardians to block students from accessing specific websites during out-of-school hours

  • On-Demand Internet Pausing allows guardians to pause internet access on demand for students during out-of-school hours.

  • Scheduled Internet Pausing
Allow guardians to schedule periods of paused internet access for students during out of school hours.

To get started, please follow these instructions:

1. Download the app

  • Download via Apple Store
  • Download via Google Play Store

2. After the app is successfully downloaded and installed, open it and enter the email address registered with the school/ParentVue.

3. Login/Check Email: Check your email on your phone for a link to log in to the app. Tap the "Verify your email", and it will take you straight to the app. Note: If you don't have access to your email through the device you used to log in, tap on "Login with verification code", and copy and paste the verification code from the email into the app.

Please remember that participation in GoGuardian Parent is completely optional. Anoka-Hennepin Schools respects your parental rights and provides this tool as an additional resource for families who wish to utilize it. Blaine High School Tech Coordinator Daryl Boeckers encourages families to build a routine of checking in student Chromebooks and phones at a central location in the home for charging each night to promote positive sleeping habits.

For more detailed instructions and information, please visit:

Claire Mikolich

My name is Claire Mikolich and I am so excited to be a part of the BHS staff this school year in the social studies department. I graduated from Bethany Lutheran College in December 2024 after student teaching at Blaine. I was lucky enough to be a long term substitute turned full time teacher here for the rest of the 2024-25 school year. I coach the JV Boys Volleyball team and helped with the Strength and Conditioning program this summer as well. This summer I was also able to travel, waterski, and play a lot of volleyball. In my free time I love to go on walks, read, and stay active. I am excited to continue to grow as a teacher this school year! Go Bengals!

David Bechard

My name is David Bechard, and I am honored to be the next Director of Bands at Blaine High School. For the past 14 years of my career, I have taught in Sioux Falls (SD), Lakeville (MN), Dubuque (IA), and St. Francis (MN). My family and I live in Blaine, my two children attend Anoka-Hennepin elementary schools, and my wife is the Director of Bands at University of Northwestern-St. Paul. Though our house is very musical and busy, in my spare time, I enjoy singing with the Minneapolis Commodores men's barbershop chorus. I am excited to join the amazing staff at BHS and to be able to work and give back to our community.

Help a Child Stay Warm This Winter: Coats for Kids Drive!

The Blaine High School Business Professionals of America (BPA) chapter is kicking off its 32nd annual Coats for Kids drive. This amazing tradition has collected over 15,000 coats for children in our community over the past 31 years, ensuring that kids in need have access to a warm coat each winter.

From now until October 25, we're inviting all students, staff, and community members to donate new or gently used coats. You can drop them off at the main entrance of Blaine High School during the school day.

Last year, we broke an 18-year record by collecting almost 1,200 coats! This year, our goal is to collect 800 coats to continue this great cause.

Ready to help? Go through your closets and drop off any coats you're no longer using! If you'd like to arrange a drop-off or have any questions, please contact Holly Boisjolie, BPA Advisor, at 763.506.6540 or holly.boisjolie@ahschools.us.

Coats for Kids was founded in 1986 and has since collected and donated over 473,500 coats to help keep children warm across the region.
