Angelo School families, Wednesday, September 3rd is the first day of school for all students in grades 1-5. Please read the following important information regarding our students' arrival and dismissal procedures for the first day of school on Wednesday.
The Angelo School doors open at 8:45 AM each day and on Wednesday upon entering the building all grade 1 students will sit on the floor in the grade 1 hallway and teachers will meet them there to get them to their classrooms. All 2nd and 3rd Grade students, once they enter the building, will walk to the cafeteria to meet their classroom teachers. All students in grades 4 and 5, once they enter the building, will walk to the gymnasium to meet their teachers. All 1st grade students who are dropped off at school or walk to school will enter through the Grade 1 door at the front Division Street side of the building and then be guided by staff down to the grade 1 hallway. All 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders who are dropped off at school or walk will enter the building through the Division Street and Ford Street doors at the back of the building and then be guided to the café or gym to meet their teachers. All students riding Special Ed vans and Private Vans will be unloaded by the café doors and brought into the building to meet their classrooms. Finally, Mr. Kelly will unload all buses at the front of the building on Main Street and walk the bus students into the building. Families will not enter the building with students, but we do have staff stationed all throughout the halls in the AM to ensure that all students are safe and get to the appropriate location to meet their teachers. Many teachers have already reached out to families to prepare for the school year, and if you are not sure of your child’s teacher you can sign into the Parent Portal on Infinite Campus to find out your child’s teacher. Students can also find out their teachers name when they arrive at the café, gym, or grade 1 hallway on day 1.
At dismissal time all bus students will exit out the front doors when their bus arrives, and Mr. Kelly will safely load the students onto the bus for their ride home. All special education van students will be dismissed out the café doors and safely loaded onto their vans. The rest of the students in grades 1-5 will be dismissed out the back Ford Street and Division Street doors. As we have done in the past, please make sure your child knows if they are going out the Ford St or Division St door at dismissal, so the teacher knows which door they are exiting.
