Nichols Navigator News #8

Hello Navigators,

We had another amazing week at Nichols. I am impressed with the level of instruction and student work I am seeing around campus. In addition, to our core instruction students are receiving art, STEM and Leader in Me lessons. Check out the video in the Leader in Me section below.

On Wednesday, 9/27/23, we will hold two meetings to discuss our Title 1 program and to connect and collaborate about this school year. One meeting will be at 8:15 and the second at 5:00 PM. Hope to see you there.

We will also have our first School Site Council meeting on Wednesday, September 27th at 7:30 AM. Even if you are not on the Council you can still attend. For this first meeting we will be doing an overview and training regarding school site council, electing officers and determining the meeting schedule.

Mark your calendars for our Fall Carnival, scheduled for October 27th. We will hold a planning meeting on October 4th at 3 PM. Hope to see you there. You can check out this link to find out more volunteer information or sign up.

On Wednesdays we will have Nichols Spirit days. Wear Nichols gear or wear blue!

If you have not done so already, we need ALL families to complete the following two forms related to school meals.

The BASE PROGRAM provides Before & After School care. If you are interested in enrolling your Child, please contact them through their website.

We are so thrilled with out STEAM program. STEAM stands for Science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. We have Ms. Pauels who teaches the STEM parts of STEAM and Ms. Harmon who teaches Art. Check out the STEAM Newsletter for the latest information.

Oceanside Unified School District has partnered with Care Solace to help families in need of mental health support. This services can help quickly find available services.
