Your Weekly Cougar News
- Happy Friday!
October 25 - October 31, 2026
What a beautiful time of year to enjoy all that makes our LCS community so special! As we take in the beauty of the fall season, we welcomed our elementary dads this morning for Donuts with Dad, it was great to have a full campus!
As you may know, October is also Pastor Appreciation Month, and we are grateful for the pastors who faithfully serve our families and community. We look forward to welcoming pastors to campus on October 28 for our annual Pastor Appreciation Luncheon!
October 28 will be an exciting day on campus for another reason, too, Bring a Friend to School Day! We are thrilled by the wonderful response and the number of families who have already RSVP’d. As a Cougar community, it’s an honor to share our school, our faith, and our community with others, and this is a fantastic opportunity to do just that! If you haven’t RSVP’d yet, please be sure to do so by Monday’s deadline.
We hope you and your family have a wonderful week ahead. Go Cougars!

Weekly Chapel Update
Elementary Chapel Update: Rooted in Faith, Growing in Grace
This week, our student chaplains, under the leadership of Ms. VanDommelen, led a wonderful chapel centered on our school theme, “Rooted in Faith, Growing in Grace.”
Through creative skits, student drawings, and hands-on illustrations, students learned that just as a tree needs strong roots to grow, we must first be rooted in Jesus before we can grow in grace and share His love with others.
One highlight was a late-night talk show featuring familiar Bible characters, including Noah, Moses, Joseph, and King David. Each story reminded us that God's grace is not something we earn by being perfect. It is a gift He freely gives us!
Our students were challenged to think about what growing in grace looks like in their everyday lives. Sometimes it means forgiving a friend, choosing kind words, listening instead of arguing, or helping someone without expecting anything in return.
Ask at Home: What is one way you can show God's grace to someone this week, even when it might be difficult?
Be sure to stop by the beautiful “Rooted in Faith, Growing in Grace” bulletin board outside the cafeteria. It is a wonderful reminder that when we stay connected to Jesus, His love can grow through us and touch the lives of others.
Fall into Kindergarden
Know a family with a child who is 4 or 5 years old? Invite them to Fall Into Kindergarten at Lenawee Christian School! Families will have the opportunity to visit our Little Cougar classrooms, tour our campus, enjoy a fun fall activity, and indulge in delicious donuts and cider while discovering what makes LCS a special place to learn and grow.
As a reminder, LCS families can receive a $500 tuition credit when a family they refer enrolls! Share the invitation with a friend, neighbor, family member, or fellow church family and encourage them to join us!
Chapel Update
Our secondary students were blessed to hear from author and speaker Jeni LaGore, author of Who Is Jesus to You? Drawing from Colossians 2:6-7 and many other passages of Scripture, she reminded students that there is a difference between simply knowing about God and truly knowing Him personally.
Through an exploration of God's names and the ways His character is revealed throughout the Bible, Mrs. LaGore demonstrated how each name points to a deeper understanding of who God is and how He works in the lives of His people. She encouraged students to move beyond head knowledge and pursue a genuine relationship with Christ, becoming deeply rooted in their faith and growing in their walk with Him.
Students left chapel challenged to consider an important question: not just what they know about Jesus, but who Jesus truly is to them. This message encouraged our students to seek God more intentionally and to continue growing in their knowledge of His love, character, and purpose for their lives.
Jenna Gradeless - Michigan Regional Honors Choir
Congratulations to senior choir member Jenna Gradeless, who has been selected for the Michigan Regional Honors Choir! Jenna will join equally talented high school singers from across the state for a day of rehearsal and performance at Western Michigan University in December. With hundreds of students auditioning for the choir, this is a wonderful accomplishment and a special opportunity for Jenna to continue developing and sharing the musical gifts God has given her. We are proud of her achievement!
MiLEAP - Free Webinars
The MiLEAP Office of Higher Education is offering webinars for students and families as they explore postsecondary options - including information about the Michigan Achievement Scholarship, FASFA, and Financial Aid Process. All sessions are free and open to the public. Please see additional information in the link below.
Secondary Community Service Day
Our annual Community Service Day is coming up on Monday, November 9, and we’re looking for meaningful ways for our students to serve! If you know an elderly relative, neighbor, or friend who could use help with outdoor cleanup, yard work, or light tasks around their home, please consider submitting their information. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to share the love and light of Christ through hands-on service.
Service locations must be within a 20-minute drive of LCS. Please submit addresses by Wednesday, November 4th using the Community Service Form linked below.
Questions? Please contact Mrs. Raymond at jraymond@lenawee.org or (517) 438-8835.
