Delaware Ridge Elementary PTO

DRE Families,

We recently wrapped up our One School, One Book Program. I hope you enjoyed reading Malcolm at Midnight at home with your student(s). Please complete this short survey In order to help me assess the effectiveness of the program and help determine whether to do it again in the future. The survey is anonymous. Thank you again for your partnership in helping develop your student into a life-long reader!

Sincerely,

John Mackey

DRE Media Specialist

Our final Skate Night of the school year is THIS Thursday! It's a pajama skate! Hope to see you there!

Everybody has to eat dinner. What an easy way to send a little more money to support our school. Our recent Panera Night brought in $87. And we have another easy dinner night coming up Monday, May 4! Join us for Chipotle Night. Be on the lookout for a flyer with the order code!

Mr. Mackey shared that the PTO sponsored Tea, Treats and Tales event held in March earned the second highest profit for our school since he has been in the Media Center, at $10,727.66. WOW!!! AND this is AFTER he took out for:

• 35 books given to students as prizes
• 15 books gifted to teachers
• 12 - $5 coupons for teachers to redeem on a $20 purchase
• 2 raffle prizes for students who attended the tea with a guest.

How exciting that he will be able to provide so many new materials for our students to use!

At our last meeting, PTO planned to provide the following for teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week:

• Friday, May 1 - Ice Cream bar from The Golden Scoop
• Monday, May 4 - Bead Battle Game (Rock, Paper, Scissors tournament)
• Tuesday, May 5 - BBQ Lunch
• Thursday, May 7 - Soda Bar
• Friday, May 8 - Lucky Ducks

PTO provided a celebratory popsicle to every DRE student to celebrate the hard work demonstrated for State Assessments and to encourage those who are too young to always do their best when testing!

PTO members and other parents welcomed Teachers back after Spring Break with a Dip and Dash event in the staff lounge. It was very appreciated.

PTO provided treats at the March staff meeting, as well as birthday cards for teachers with March birthdays!

Delaware Ridge PTO now has Zeffy! We are so excited to be able to offer this more convenient way for you to participate in the great things we have planned!

PTO is a group of parents and teachers that work together to plan fun, family events for students at Delaware Ridge Elementary. We meet once a month (usually the first Thursday) in the Media Center at DRE. Meetings usually last about an hour and we use that time to review our budget, plan for upcoming events and take down ideas for future events. All parents/caregivers and teachers are welcome to attend. We'd love to see you there!
