Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we settle into the school routine, our top priority remains the safety and well-being of all our students, families, and staff during arrival and dismissal. We need your help to ensure our parking lot and surrounding streets remain safe and efficient for everyone.

Please review these essential safety reminders for drop-off and pick-up:

  • No U-Turns: U-turns near the bus loop (from either Heritage or Wildcat directions) create dangerous blind spots and disrupt traffic flow. Please use designated turnarounds instead.

  • Right-Turns Only at Summit View Parkway: When exiting the car loops onto Summit View Parkway, please turn right. Left turns across traffic disrupt the flow, delay the entire car line, and put our crosswalk staff and students at risk.

  • Follow Staff & Volunteer Instructions: Our staff members and crosswalk monitors are out there every day for the safety of your children. Please respect their signals and directions at all times.

  • Use Designated Crosswalks: Always use marked crosswalks when crossing the street with your children rather than crossing midway through active traffic lines.

  • Buckle Up for Safety: Ensure all children remain safely seated and buckled inside the vehicle until you have reached a complete stop in the designated drop-off area. Kids should never lean out of windows or sunroofs while vehicles are moving.

We know car line can require extra patience, but taking these extra precautions ensures that every student arrives and leaves safely. Thank you for your cooperation and for keeping our school community safe!

After-School Playground Use

Important Update

Dear Mountain Peak Families,

We want to share an important update regarding our playground after school.

Beginning immediately, the Mountain Peak playground (including the swings) will be closed after dismissal until 3:40 p.m.

We have noticed an increasing number of students remaining on the playground after school rather than heading directly home or moving to their designated car loop/pick-up area. During dismissal, our staff is focused on safely supervising students as they exit the building, walk or bike home, board transportation, and connect with families in our car loops. When students remain on the playground, it becomes difficult for us to ensure that every student is where they are supposed to be and has been safely dismissed.

To help us maintain a safe and orderly dismissal, we ask that all students leave school grounds or report directly to their designated pick-up area at dismissal. Students should not stop to play on the playground while waiting for siblings, friends, or rides. Parents and younger siblings must also refrain from entering the playground and swing area UNTIL 3:40pm. Please gather along the fence line while you are waiting.

The playground & swings will reopen for family use at 3:40 p.m., once our dismissal process is complete. At that time, students may return to the playground with appropriate parent/guardian supervision.

We appreciate your help in reinforcing this expectation with your child. Our goal is simply to make sure every Mustang gets where they need to go safely at the end of the school day.

Thank you for your partnership and support!
